Back to the point. Yes this is the best we can expect. We have a massive change with the loss of CJ. He caused the opposition to double team and triple team him. This opened up the running lanes for our backs. Now we are fairly easy to defend. Put 8 in the box and make us pass.
After some time I think that the ACC coaches has finally realized that they cannot really run their standard offense against our zone blitz package. Both Boston College and UVA did just variances of max protect packages. BC had better athletes. Guarantee we will see this again... not this weekend though because the defense really struggles with the spread offense because it pulls all the blitzers out to guard receivers.
For the past 5 years CG coached teams have been incredibly fortunate with injuries. Injuries last longer and hurt more when you are losing. This year we are making up for some of our incredible luck. Last year we were very fortunate with a very down ACC. The ACC is much better than last year with Miami rising again and UVA being competitive. We will win a game we shouldn't lose one we shouldn't(my guess is UNC or NCState), lose to UGA and end up 6-6 or 7-5.
Way too much blame for performance was place on RB's head. It has always been a coaching issue. Nothing more disappointing than watching Chan have the headsets on. Anybody that thinks he is not calling the plays or having tremendous influence is very naive.
