Is This True?

I posted this in the "Coaches Carousel" thread --
Maybe the guy from Bama was hired with that in mind, and he will now be DC

I think the liklihood of that is pretty high. And it if is, I think that means we won't be seeing that damn prevent defense anymore. That was my only beef with Santucci.
What about DL coach Jess Simpson? Guy has a lot of experience at numerous levels (Buford, Duke Co DC, Falcons, Hurricanes).

Look around CFB. OU HC (former Clemson DC) Venebles has struck out so many times on hiring a HR DC, he’s now going to be the DC himself in 2025 with his job on the line.

This isn’t good timing at all for GT.

Am I nuts or wouldn’t moving from DC in college to be a linebackers coach in the NfL be considered a demotion…or lateral at best?

Are you really paying attention to CFB vs the NFL from a work / life balance at this point? No. This is not a demotion to make it to the NFL, even in this current day of CFB chaos.

Confirmed by Footballscoop. CFB is a flat out a 24/7, 365 day dumpster fire. The fact that coaches would rather be coordinators (ex. Chip Kelly UCLA HC to tOSU OC, former BC HC now GB DC Jeff Harley, etc) or position coaches in the NFL vs coaching in CFB due to what the POS corrupt greedy NCAA has caused. Had they done the right thing a decade ago, none of this BS would be happening. Meaning revenue sharing, NIL.

The NCAA earns barely any money off of college football.

Can the pay be that much better?

The obvious choice would be Jason Semore, who has been DC at Marshall and Southern Miss since he left. Key loves him, doesn't he?
