FSU is 1-6 with games remaining against Miami, UNC, Notre Dame, Charleston Southern and Florida. They will be lucky to finish no worse than 3-9. A 10 loss season is very possible.

Length: 10 years
Total value: more than $84 million before incentives
Annual Average Value (AAV): $10,000,000 in 2024

Buyout Cost: $65 million. Norvell would be paid $65 million not to coach the Seminoles or 85% of his base salary and supplemental pay for the remainder of the contract, which expires on Dec. 31, 2031

Not to mention the millions they had to pay Willie Taggart to not coach which just ended this year or the legal mess ongoing with the ACC and Disney/ESPN undoubtedly costing millions in legal fees and the uncertainty of how that will play out.

FSU is in a dicey spot. Glad we're not them.

On a scaled comparison, it sounds like we are them. Just a few years ahead of them having already fired Clown.
 
I doubt Norvell forgot how to coach. This NIL and transfer rules are relatively new and he went too heavy on transfers and hurt team chemistry.
Also there had to be a better QB option in the portal than DJ Ugly.
As far as our team we are going to be alright just going to need more patience before we are consistent against the top teams. If we could somehow pull a upset against UGA that would more than make up for the bad loss against ND.

You’re right—Goof’s $11 million was crippling to the GTAA.

However, Norvell's contract is a monster for even a factory to have to eat/pay off. They have that kind of fundraising?
 
Being tied to a buyout like that especially sucks when $$$ is going to players above board now.

I don’t see how GT will be “consistent” against the top teams. Unless of course, there’s a huge influx of $$$ to buy the talent necessary.
 
The contracts need to be changed when the Coach sucks, the colleges are going broke be cause some dumb ass AD thinks he has found the next greatest coach. Win and get paid more, lose and get paid a little. Makes you want to try harder.

Contracts that are changed are not contracts.
 
FSU threw a tantrum last year and had what, 24 players opt out of the OB? Shortly before that they filed that lawsuit against the ACC. There was some kind of poison in the well down there starting with the admin & some leaders on the team, and all the kids were drinking.

Think if all that was going on at your company, not like it turns around all of the sudden.

I hope they suck forever.
 
Fire a coach following an undefeated regular season and conference championship. You’re going to pay the next guy an ultra premium plus.
