It has to be the Coaching....

First off, regarding cheating, Alabama has been the biggest cheater in the history of college football. Not to take away from the thread of Bowden's stupid coaching, but how does a young team out physical another?

More importantly, the rest of this thread is total bs. WE, Georgia Tech, needs to step up, man up and start kicking ass again. Stop looking for your weak sister to pick on and start manning up with your own responsibilities.

Remember when the ACC was top tier? That was when Tech was a top team and beating their SEC rival three years in a row. So stop throwing stones and man up on our own home base.

Not to take away from the fact that Clemson needs

a New Head Coach but, Alabama will be a lot better this year than the so called experts predict. I saw (Maybe outside of Miami) the best Frosh. class in the country. That Frosh. running back is going to be great. He moves the chains, just when you think he is down he picks up 3 to 4 more yards. They have the best Head Coach in the Sec. I think they will beat Ugag in a couple of weeks and Challenge UF and Lsu for the Sec championship this year. Their Sr. QB is Steady and they have all the ingredients (Tough defense that stuffs the run and a steady QB with a solid RB and great coach)

Did anyone else see the Keith Jackson interview during the U.S.C. / Va. game? He said that U.S.C. is a lot better than the 3rd place ranking the crazy media has tagged them with. Griese kidded, But Keith you used to live in the state of Ga. An obvious slap at Ugag...

U.S.C. has the best talent and depth in college football period, along with the best head coach...No comparison...Ugag doesn't have the depth that some others have (I.E. U.S.C., Oklahoma, U.F., Ohio State) and didn't look at all like a top 5 team Saturday....Of course with all the journalism graduates out there, they have the hype. :wow:

Re: Not to take away from the fact that Clemson needs

I don't know why anyone is surprised by the UVA-USC outcome. In fact, anyone who expected anything else from a team that lost as much as UVA did from last year's team simply wasn't paying attention. Clemson deserves as much scorn as anyone wants to send their way, but UVA lost most of what they had last year. This is just another example of the media not paying attention.

"The ACC has put more players in the NFL the last few years than any other conference...."

I think if you do enough research (i.e. don't just look at the past 2 years) you'll find that the SEC:

1) Has more players on NFL rosters than any other conferece.

2) Has had more players drafted over a longer period of time. You can go back as far as when the BCS started 10 years ago or even the early 90s.

The ACC had the most players drafted in the 2006 draft, I believe. But the SEC leads all other conferences in a "big picture" analysis.

thanks for the bold text, sfalco.

None of that matters, though. Since we are looking at post-ACC expansion to the present.

The ACC has put more players in the NFL the last few years than any other conference....

What I see and it was very clear (Listen to Herbstreit and the gang this morning on College football final) That Clemson was outcoached...Bowden is pitiful..His team literally walked out onto the field last night..NO emotion at all...Wussies....

You reverse the roles and Saban was coaching Clemson, Clemson wins and maybe more than by 24 points...

Clemson annually has some of the best talent in college football and play like wussies...

I'm convinced we don't have the head coaches the sec, Pac 10 and Big 10 have and thus the results the last few years...

I think P.J. has a chance to make his mark and in a big way in our conference...His teams will be tough as nails and play inspired....He practices and prepares his teams that way, similiar to Saban, his teams will play with toughness...

Grobe, P.J., Butch Davis and Beamer..Possibly Tom Obrien (Outside of these head coaches, I don't see a toughness there that it takes to win)

I know VT lost to a very good East Carolina team ( Yes, ECU willl be good this year and VT is very young, they lost more starters than anyone in our conference from last year) BUT, Beamer has proven to be a good coach and his teams show toughness..

No doubt Butch Davis will have UNC there but, it will be a couple of more years.

Grobe, we all know is an outstanding coach.

I think the Ex-Marine Obrein will have NC. State there in a few years. (Amato didn't leave him much) They will play with toughness.

But, my point is, outside of these 5 maybe 6 Head Coaches, the ACC doesn't have the coaches the other conferences have.

Tommy Bowden has to go, NO way Clemson should not have had a couple of more National Championships since 1981..Just too much there to offer at Clemson..They need to make a change and get a Saban type coach there.

A lot of people around the country said, The ACC would be top to bottom the best conference in college football when we expanded and we have produced the players and have great talent BUT, have not shown it on the scoreboard.

Another thing that needs to happen, is for Fsu and Miami, to get back to where they were, the best teams in college football...I'm hoping Jimbo will take FSU back to greatness, (Of course with us beating them every year in the Conference Championship game)
Miami is getting some great top 3 talent every year, But, I'm not sold on Shannon as their coach. Another team like Clemson that needs to have a great coach, just way too much talent that is wasted.

I.M.H.O. Fsu, Miaimi, Clemson all need to be in or near the top 5 every year. No excuses with all the talent these programs produce.

Thoughts?

Bowden is and always has been a pretender.
I think the ACC will have three teams in the Top 15 by season's end: VPI, FSU and Wake.

I've spoken to two coaches since the game and what I like about this group is that they are pissed on what was put on the field Thursday night. Not happy at all. We have leaders that will now get us on track weekly and not let the kids pat themselves on the back. Hoorah beer! Hoorah coaches!

This is NOT the issue Bulldawg/sec homer....

The point IS the last 2 or 3 years the ACC NOT the sec has had more players drafted and I believe it was either last year or 2 years ago the ACC set the record for most players drafted in the 1st round by one conference...We are not talking about ancient history here, we are talking about the most recent history here and we are talking about the other conferences having the edge at Head coaching and the ACC making a change at a few of our traditional powers, (Clemson Miami i.e.) at Head Coach.....The point IS, we need to have some coaching changes in our conference. We obviously have major league talent, but we need better coaching in order to be up there with the Pac 10, Big Ten , sec on the scoreboard, where it counts....

Imagine that, a ugag fan who doesn't understand the point of the post he responded to. Who could have imagined such a thing? Dumbass.

Here are the comments I responded to:

"It has to be the Coaching.... "

"The ACC has put more players in the NFL the last few years than any other conference...."

Those comments imply that the recent poor performance by ACC teams is due to coaching, and has nothing to do with talent / players. It implies that because the ACC had about a 2 year run where they "put more players in the NFL" than any other conference, that the current problem is coaching; not talent.

My response was absolutely relevant.

It's not relevant at all. The ACC has 3 more teams now SO OBVIOUSLY YOU CAN'T COMPARE PRE-EXPANSION YEARS.

God, UGA fans are dumb.

Man, this is priceless. For once, there's a thread that would actually compliment the SEC, and the token UGA troll still manages to come off looking like a jackass. Bravo!

Next we'll hear the Big East Basketball faithful chime in with getting more teams in March Madnes (picking from 18 teams). It's just a broken record or maybe engineers are the only ones that can actually think.
