IT IS SETTLED!- Old Gold is Back

"Old Gold" is shared as a color with many sports teams, including San Francisco 49ers, New Orleans Saints, and Wake Forest. I think we are the only team that interprets that color as mustard yellow. I would guess that it is because it contrasts better with white. Personally, I think the "Vegas" gold looks more impressive even if it doesn't "pop". Then again, who cares?

No no, upon further review, old gold is GONE and VEGAS gold is back...

(Yes, I was confused about what is old and what is Vegas, but that should be cleared up now)
 
We wore vegas gold when O'Leary was here so it not just "Gailey Beige" Of course I am not sure many of you can remember ALL the way back to 2001.:D

Is it really the coach's choice of what the color is? I figured it would be an athletic director kind of decision, maybe with some input from the coach....

This is in reference to the 'Gailey Beige' comment.

Great, not only are we stuck with a crummy designed uniform, we got stuck with the crappy gold too. That's the only thing that made last years uniforms bearable in my opinion was they were the OLD gold. ****!

I spent way more time trying to research this then a straight man probably should, but it seems we started wearing the vegas/urine/beige yellow sometime in the mid 90s. Hence, I'll call it Braineless Beige instead. I don't know if he's directly responsible, and someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I've learned that if it's a bad idea, it probably came from Dave Braine.

Seems you're right... I assumed that the Ramblin' Wreck color was "Old Gold", so the jerseys were back to "old gold"... anyways, it should just be settled with the throwback jerseys...

I agree. It's pretty sad when some whiny fans (who apparently don't recognize what our traditional old gold actually looks like) can convince the GTAA to switch back to a non-traditional Vegas gold (which looks like every other team that wears urine yellow can calls it "gold")

So, does anyone confirm seeing this change with their own eyes? That uniform looks just like last years except for the "shade" of gold. Depending on the quality of the camera, that can change dramatically.

My guess is the uniforms haven't changed at all and we're taking one picture from a cheap digital camera in the wrong light out of context. And I hope that's the case. I don't really care about the shade of gold as long as we stick to one mustard/urine/vegas color.
 
no florida, the jerseys have changed. they wore the jerseys at fan day and are selling them at the bookstore. the new jerseys have pale pansy chan gailey gold instead of old gold.

i am with bor on this one. people said they wanted the throwback gold, then they got it, then they decided they didnt like it.

for what its worth MOST of the younger crowd (the crowd we should be worrying about because they are the future of the program)- at least the ones that i know - liked last years jerseys. if they had a problem with them, it was with the gold britches which was too much for them. i think after some getting used to and maybe some tweaking they would have grown on them.

i LOVED them. especially the helmet. that was old gold.

hate the template all you want, but that was old gold. and now its gone.

now we are back to pale pansy chan gailey ucf vegas gold. gross.
