that the "Saturday Night Big Game on ABC" is Boise State vs. Oregon State.

The spread is 17 points!!! And, the hype machine is playing up like a "competitive match-up".

Boise has won 56 games in a row at home - or something.

Imagine the NFL taking a 17-point spread game like New Orleans hosting Buffalo and pushing that to the "Sunday Night Game". Won't EVER happen!

But, in college we get to watch another Boise blow-out.

I thought the "essence" of sports is "selling the competition" - no matter what the level of play. Clearly this doesn't apply to College Football. Of course, it doesn't matter since 80% of the viewership are male football junkies that have a wager on the game. That makes it somewhat interesting - will Boise cover the spread?

So stupid!

There isn't a more "competitive" game to show?!?!?!?!?!?

Truly pathetic!

P.S. That is my "the whole Boise State situation in incredibly STUPID" post of the week.

yeah should have been one of the other ranked match-ups: West Virginia at LSU or USCe at Auburn
 
I was going to read your entire post but then I found some nails so I'm going to pound those into my dick instead.
 
I tend to agree with him a bit. There are far more qualified teams that should be ranked, but Oregon St. gets the vote since they need to have Boise beat another ranked team (or give fans the delusion it can happen.)

This could very easily happen since the Monday Night Football schedule is determined at the beginning of the year and NBC only gets like six flex games for SNF.
 
Oregon state is going to win!
 
A win pretty much clears the way for BSU to play for the BCS Title, so it seems like a reasonable game to hype up.
 
Nevada beat Cal or somebody like that. Maybe they can give them a game later in the year.
 
I say the Beavers take the Broncs to the cleaners and that will be that. No more smurf hype for a while.
 
Doesn't matter what happens in this game. An undefeated OSU and an undefeated Bama will Always, no matter what system you're in, always play for the title game. We'll see a Boise/TCU sugar bowl again.
 
I hate the Broncos also but until someone can actually beat them. Then we are stuck with hearing thier name. They beat Va Tech. I am just glad we don't play them.
