It's humorous

Who knows man, the whole SEC is schizophrenic this year. Would be nice to see an LSU win, but nothing over there is going to surprise me this year.

And now on 790, Brandon Adams is pitching a fit about the fact the people aren't impressed by the fact that the LSU-UGAg game is an SEC matchup between top 5 and top 25 teams. He wants everyone to declare this to be a huge game (When it's not, because neither of these teams will be relevant to the SEC or national picture in a couple of weeks) and give his mutts more attention.

Give me a break.

It just shows that people are even starting to see through the rankings BS. If this was truly a top 5 team against a top 20 team, it would be HUGE. But it isn't. Everyone knows that both these teams have inflated rankings. LSU showed that Washington and Miss State can compete with them. UGA showed that OkSt. can beat them and ASU can play with them.

Fans of LSU and UGA are probably stoked about the game, but the casual fan isn't going to change his Saturday plans to see this.

I'd still rather not play LSU in a bowl game at the end of the year. Ahh, maybe I'm just scared.

I've never been a believer of the entire bowl system layout anyway. The argument that folks make about the time off allowing teams to get healthy is a farce. I think the long layoffs that teams experience are more detrimental to their performance than any lingering injuries a team might have. I'm not making an argument for a playoff system...just an observation that I've long believed in.

Just shows you how self-important the Mutts feel. We've seen this over the years--every somewhat potentially competitive SEC matchup involving UGA and another school with a large, rabid fanbase is trumped up as the biggest game of the week, if not the century (no matter how overrated one or both teams may be). Every game like this is a "big rivalry" game for the Dawgs(sic), and a nationally important one at that. It's as if the whole nation is supposed to revolve around UGA FB, and the Mutts start whining when their hyped up games aren't getting the respect they think they deserve.

:crybaby:

I love how it doesn't matter how poorly Georgia played in their last game, people are tripping over themselves to preach the idea that Georgia has a legitimate shot to beat both LSU and Florida and make a magical run to the SEC Championship.

This morning, Steak Shapiro could barely find the words to express his elation at the idea that this could very well happen.

Quarterback not impressive? Defense spotty? Worrisome playcalling? Got a tough schedule coming up? Fear not! You're Georgia, and therefore entitled! Break out the black jerseys, Bulldogs! A media frenzy over your stellar play is only win over LSU away!

uaga has legitimate chance of beating LSU. Florida? Not so much.

UGA continues to be the luckiest team on earth --it's been that way for 30 years now. Here's a team that held on in the closing seconds against a fair SC team, their defense was not quite as bad as Arkansas's so they pulled that one out, and if not for AJ Green and an ASU secondary that has yet to turn around and look for the ball on a deep route, UGA could be 0-4.

But instead they are ranked #14 in one of the polls and they get to go up against an LSU team that is ranked #4 in the nation, but is probably not deserving of that high of a regard. So realistically, UGA could knock off LSU and vault into the top 10, and it would not surpirise me if they did --despite the fact that they have looked mediocre this season.

GT will have a similar opportunity in a few weeks going up against what could be a top 5 VT team --if we take care of business prior to this game. GT misfired in the second half of the Clemson game and against Miami, so perhaps we will make the best of the opportunity that lies before us and in the process gain somewhat in the national credibility that UGA still apparently has.

Aren't we talking LSU's defense vs. UGAg's defense? Isn't LSU's significantly better? No?

Last I heard, LSU's D and O were 9th and 12th in the conference. Not sure which was which, but I think I have them in order.

EDIT:
LSU is 23 in ppg allowed and 49 in ypg allowed
UGA is 95 in ppg allowed and 67 in ypg allowed.

LSU is 53 in ppg scored and 105 in ypg earned.
UGA is 44 in ppg scored and 74 ypg earned.

Their O is 12th in the conference and like 107th nationally.

Their rushing O is 74th. Which is one of the reasons I am not that impressed with the fact that MSU 'shut down' LSU's rushing to 30 yards.

I broke down total offense after you quoted me. See those above.

I have a gut feeling UGA will win by a pretty wide margin. Don't like it either, but if LSU's line is really that atrocious, they will lose. Scoring 16 offensive points against Miss. State does not really set them up for victory.

You don't think THE HAT will have his men straightened out by then?

Sorry, but LSU is rather overrated thus far this year.

They almost (and should have) lost to Missy State.

They also didn't kill Vandy, and they probably should have.

I wouldn't be surprised to see UGAy put together its best game thus far and eke out a victory over LSU. Which of course would translate into the mutts skyrocketing in the polls and getting undeserved hype, which they already receive.

That is why I honestly think LSU will win. Leslie will have a few trick plays in store for Richt. If UGA turns it over like they have been(2-3 times a game), LSU will win by 10+. Just my opinion.
