I've taken the bowl streak for granted.

If the OL play continues to play like 2015 then .500 might be the norm. CPJ might not want to get rid of Sewak because of friendship but if my friend is jeopardizing my job, sorry bro you gotta go.

So about 500 ball. That's the norm? We get PJ and Sewak and 500 ball?
That's been the norm for like fifteen years, hasn't it?

yep. Both 2014 & 2015 were outliers. The norm is more like the mediocrity of 2012 and 2013.

Regular Season wins under CPJ (acc wins)

We are a 7-8 win team generally. Personally, if we have to average 7 wins, I'll take the 14-15 seasons over the 11-12 seasons.

When are who we thought we were. A .500 team, slightly better, who has to have senior/experience laden teams to win big. That means we'll be very good (10 wins) everY 4 or 5 years, likely pretty bad the year after we are very good, and mediocre the other 3 years.

We do not, and never have so probably will not start now, recruit enough depth to reload year after year. It's pretty simple.

But I will take a coach who can/will win the conference, beat UGA, and win a big bowl every 4 or 5 years, then have a bad year like this year, over 7-6 and a toilet bowl every year.

Somehow Chan could keep us from a 3 win season.

7-8 wins with losses to the mutts, VPI, Miami, and a middle tier bowl loss is the norm.

yeah but like CPJ, Chan couldn't develop a QB.

I'm glad Chan's gone but it'd be nice to have a coach that could beat the mutts, VPI, and Miami more than 25% of the time. I don't get why the 25% winning percentage vs those teams is so worshiped around here.

And he couldn't beat UGA, win the ACC, or win an orange Bowl. I'll take a 3 win season if once ever 4 or 5 years we are winning those.

Not to mention I doubt very seriously we ever see another 3 win season from CPJ.

Chan had Reggie, who regressed each year. Bennet who regressed each year. And Suggs who was consistently bad.

CPJ had JfN who improved, although the offense regressed after lossing two draft picks. Washington who improved running the O each year. Vad, who regressed although it was hard to tell since he went from mop up duty to started. And Thomas who appears to have regressed after losing two draft picks.

CPJ has shown he can develop qbs. He hasn't shown that he can develop an O line as a unit (several individual linemen have shown marked improvement).

exactly

these same types that dont think that we should crush Georgie, Miami, VT, FSU, ND, etc nearly every year are the ones that worship $80k. is $220k too much too ask?

just because no coach ever in the history of Georgia Tech football has ever been able to consistently beat all the best teams in our region doesnt mean that we shouldnt be doing it!

a bunch of losers. poor losers

Yep- Gailey was a terrible QB coach. Already pointed that out. Ball was much, much worse as a 4-yr SR than as a frosh.

JFN was pretty much the same QB most of his CPJ career and never improved his passing. Tevin didn't get much better (certainly not as a passer). Vad looked good in spots but then dismal in others before he quit.

JT definitely regressed though it's understandable given how badly the OL regressed. 2016 will be telling for him.

meh, a 25% rate of success sucks no matter how one tries to spin it. These haven't been exactly powerhouse mutt, VPI, or Miami teams either. And we've lost to some ööööing terrible teams in bowls.

But hey, we pile up the yards against Tulane so that makes him a great coach!!

Suggs came over when O'Leary was the coach. And as Georgie said to my boss at the time of AJ: "He's special."

I'm not claiming anyone is going to improve as a passer. They might, but the better the qb gets at orchestrating the run game, the fewer passes they will attempt. Those passes will be more of the low percentage kind of bombs.

JfN was definitely better in 2010 than in 2008 at running the offense. The offense overall was worse for losing Thomas and Dwyer.

Tevin vastly improved as an option qb.

Thomas has regressed. I know the OL sucked dick most games, but Thomas was worse than last year. It looked like they tried to adjust his throwing motion and he spent to much time thinking about his throws rather than throwing. It is the old Tenuta saying "You think. You stink. ".

What a shitty season.

I apologize. The OL did not suck dick most games. Sucking dick implies they made contact with the opposing defense. My analysis was clearly wrong.

I would agree that contact is required.
