J Batt Thread

J Batt had invites from other bigger bowls last year and took the team to the Birmingham Bowl in order to save money.

I didn’t particularly care for that line of thinking. Other than that and moving COFH to the Benz…he was a marked improvement over the last dipshit.

I don't believe this is true. They were hopeful for other invites but didn't get them.
 
I'm most disappointed that this likely means Tech isn't close to getting a B1G or SEC invitation. He wouldn't leave if that was on the table in the next 3-5 years.

That was the worst bowl experience I’ve had. If he really did that then good ööööing riddance to that douchebag.

Hopefully it gives us an ally in the Big 10. We make sense from multiple perspectives when they expand. We fit their educational standards. We provide easy transportation access. And we give them an outpost in the middle of the SEC.
We will never receive an offer to rejoin the SEC.

College football's next steps are the eventual abandonment of the conferences. There is no way that teams like Ohio State, Michigan, Alabama, Georgia, Texas, LSU, Penn State aren't sitting there wondering how long they are going to have to share money with Vandy and Northwestern.
 
Dunno the terms of his extension, but we should get some buyout $, right? Always preferable to paying someone to go away. I agree with most that Cabrera is the most important piece and he will get another good one.

The Big integer is already here. Look at all the recruiting Ohio State already does in Georgia and Florida. Michigan too. And thanks to the thousands of transplants now living in metro ATL, they already have TV eyeballs.
We don't bring anything to them they don't already have. Is the Big 10 Jake Ryan and we're Samantha Baker, with the ACC having forgotten our birthday? Jake Ryan is still boinking the prom queen, Ted, and ain't coming by in his TransAm for Samantha.

I agree with the SEC not looking to take us back ever, either.
But JBatt also knows our financial situation better than anybody in the Big Integer too. You think he's gonna recommend our cash-strapped ass as a possible future dance partner?
