I think it was the initial hit - plus he wasn't down there so the tackle after wasn't late or dirty - refs hadn't blown the whistle.

He hasn't had much time to set his feet. I think he need to start scrambling some more to keep them honest

I agree. Unless I missed something, there was nothing dirty about it. Saying otherwise is just but thirst on our part.
