Jagodzinski firing is confirmed

I'll believe it when I see it. This would be almost like program suicide...who the hell would coach there after seeing how they treat their coaches? I mean, I understand that you want loyalty...but an NFL job doesn't exactly come along every day.

There's only one man for that job. One.

They call him Mr. Nix.

They've got a few coaches they can promote, so they won't have an Auburn fiasco on their hands. And the more I read about this, the more I can't fault BC for dropping the hammer. It's obvious that Jags is going to make a run back up to the College Retirement League, if not now, then whenever he can. Why would BC want that hanging over their program?

In these kinds of situations, there is so much behind the scenes stuff that we never find out about. I'm going to ahead and give the BC administration the benefit of doubt that they aren't complete idiots. I have to assume their was some duplicity by Jags. How much, who knows?

I'm starting to wonder how much muck raking the BC OC Logan has been doing. If he is next in line to take over as HC.

It says at the end of the article that Spaziani has been BC's DC for 10 years, and I would say he's done well enough for a promotion.

At first, I thought BC would be dumb to fire him. But if he committed, officially or not, to not interview with NFL teams his first three years, and that promise was vital to him getting the job, then BC has every right to be livid when Jags went behind their back for the Jets job.

Good for BC. Personally I hope more schools do the same thing. A contract, verbal or written, is a contract. Honor it.

Dude,if Mike Mularkey takes another job Jagodzinski would be a perfect replacement for Falcons' OC.

I agree. It hurts a Football Program if the coach interviews. If he does not get the job and comes back, then it is a recruiting tool for other competing schools. I believe the coach should not interview unless his contract allows it or it has expired.

This is usually a sign that a Coach does not feel great about what is left ahead of him in his current job. I know BC graduates a ton of experience and I do not believe they have much coming back on Offense or Defense. This tells me that he is looking for greener pastures. BC probably is headed down whether he stays or goes. He pretty much has to go at this point. I can't see the team rallying around a quitter.

I like the way the AD is handling this. He wants a leader who is committed to the program not a follower who is looking out for himself and not the organization.

Go Jackets!

Bull****.

As soon as schools start honoring the contracts as binding, then you can pull that argument.

It goes both ways, you know. See Tommy Tubberville.

They did honor it -- in the fact they paid him the full price of the contract.

And if Jags' contract has in it that he could not interview with NFL teams for 3 years, then BC is honoring his contract as well by firing him. He breached the contract, not BC, in that case.

Auburnt then BC making their athletic programs look STUPID--if only Ugag and MR would have a spat about Def. Co. WM (whom the nadlicker nation is howling about) then everything would be perfect!! (I can only DREAM)
