Wow, this is a surprise. I bet Jagodzinski regrets ever interviewing with the NY Jets.

This is a pretty retarded timeline of events:

  • Coached BC into the ACC Championship game (lost)
  • Wants to interview with NY Jets
  • BC administrators warns him he'll be fired if he does
  • Interviews with NY Jets anyway
  • BC fires him
  • Doesn't get the NY Jets job
  • Hired at Tampa Bay as Offensive Coordinator
  • Fired by Tampa Bay 10 days before start of the season

The BC thing was a surprise, throw in the Tampa firing and you start to wonder if there's more to the story. He must be a first-rate "JAG"off to make everyone find ways to get rid of him (and in bizarre ways on top of it)

Tampa Bay heard that Chan Gailey was recently made available. :hsugh:

BC screwed up IMHO. Spaziano is not head coaching material.

Maybe. Spaziano basically inherits a team that I would consider to be in rebuilding mode. Whereas, Jagodzinski inherited a fairly good team from Tom O'Brien.

Either way, BC clearly didn't want a coach that would always be looking for "something better".

The only way this could get even more hilarious is if Spaziano hires Jagodzinski as BC offensive coordinator.

Someone on another board said there was a strong disagreement between Jags and the head coach on who the starting QB should be...not quite sure that is a reason to fire someone, but who knows...

I think it depends on "how strong" the disagreement was.

Firing former-ACC-coaches-turned-NFL-offensive-coordinators seems to be the thing to do this preseason.
