Jakhari Williams

I like Philo. Watching his mechanics (which don't matter when considering the classification) and considering his size, I think he will do well in the ACC as he grows and matures. Kind of reminds me of Drake Maye. And, with CBF's new offense, I think he fits in perfectly.
My only concern, and hopefully it's an unjustified one, is that we end up with a Davis/Luginbill situation in the locker room after this switcheroo.
The way sociey has transformed in the last few years is what causes me to bring this up, and I hate it.

He has the tools, obviously. Our goal should be, if he blossoms at GT, is to make GT football a destination, not a "I might portal to Ohio State, Michigan, Texas, USC, UGAg....."

That goes for all of our players. I'd love to see our players play top level football and then say "why would I leave GT?"

I obviously wear gold tinted glasses, but I have no idea why any player wouldn't love the opportunity of playing in Atlanta

There are some like that in GA but those schools play in the GHSA with all the public schools. The independents that play in GISA aren't quite the same, especially the really small ones.
That’s interesting as a few years ago they were in the GHSA and have even beaten 4A schools.

I'm not talking about PAC. Im talking about independent private schools vs. the private schools that play GHSA.
Yeah, FPD the school the Williams kid plays for was GHSA a few years ago. They moved back to the private school league because in their region the facilities and overall environment weren’t sufficient at many of the public schools.

Why pay the money to send your children to private school and have their bus pelted with rocks and shot at after you beat the hometown team?

Ahh gotcha

Having gone to a small private HS in FL that recruits talent and is a state powerhouse in its classification, I would still not consider the team one of the best teams in the state.
Which school? I'm curious if I agree.

They have won 9 state titles in 1A/2A (I don't keep up with all the classification changes over the years) and finished as runners-up a few other times. Made it to semis in 2022. Tech had a player on the roster under Johnson from the school - he and I may be the only 2 people from the HS to attend Tech.

I thought the reason you send your children to private schools was to get a better education. I never realized it involved not having to play sports against poor people.
Never seen a poor people rowing team so maybe you’re right

Back in my day, we had a particular region opponent that was awful in this way. It was so bad that our fans were asked to park at the police station and they they ferried people to the stadium on buses to keep cars from being vandalized. I remember riding the buses out after we beat them one year and the buses were being pelted by rocks as it drove away from the stadium.

So which HS?

Beach or Savannah High?

You are the one with a stick up your ass and bringing up the word poor. There are cases where parents send their kids to private schools because the local public schools suck that bad. For the poor kids they can use government grants to do the same.

If the public school is bad enough I would support this. I just wonder if you would support it if it involved the school in which you were sending your children.

I can remember having our buses pelted several times between 67 and 70 at Cheney stadium. At that time all city of Atlanta high school football games were played at either Cheney or Grady.
