James Conner Pitt

öööö, I really hate that for him. He is a baller.

Holy öööö, the first team all american dude?

Man, that sucks for them.

One of the best players in the ACC and one of the best RBs in the country. Hate it for the guy.

Is MCL the bad one? Like maybe not come back bad?

I don't think there's a "good" ligament to tear in your knee. And he's reportedly having to have surgery and is out for the season.

Out for year with MCL tear. Bad break for them.
Bad break for them?? What about for him? This is the saddest part of college football. Is there a doctor in the house? Isn't MCL not as serious as ACL, or do I have it backwards?

Coach pat Narduzzi said Conner "is fine, just being cautious," after Saturday's win over Youngstown State. Conner did missed the second half and was seen with an ice pack on his knee. (about 1 day ago)

hmm

nm, garbage post

I've torn my acl. Both are serious in that surgery plus rehab is a minimum of 6 months for a high level athlete.

Obviously, my rehab was longer.

Pitt is one of the unluckiest sports programs I have ever seen.

Normally MCL tears don't require surgery - I tore mine a few years ago playing football. It's on the inner side of the knee and apparently has a blood source (the ACL doesn't). Mine repaired itself in a few months and I was pretty much back to normal after another few months of physical therapy. So it's a much better diagnosis than an acl tear but usually means your done for the season if it's a clean tear. Partial tears might heal quick enough to play later in the season.

As for pitt, it's a tough loss but I don't think it will derail their season. I always thought of Conner as a very good RB but not to the level that the media hyped him up to be.

Sure--there's a big difference between partial and complete tears. From him being out for the year, it's likely a complete tear.

Even a partial tear would have him out for several weeks minimum.

And typically, with mcl/acl tears is meniscus damage as well.

This sucks. Guy is a 6-2, 240 lb Junior @ Pitt.

Think he comes back or goes pro?

Conner's a beast. He's fun to watch when he's not going against Tech. You wonder how much wind this takes out of Pitt's sails completely now.

Pro. RBs have a short enough shelf life as it is, don't see much value in coming back.

Gurley was first off the board despite injury, hell lattimore got drafted despite destroying all thing knee related

Reality Check:

Their 2nd string RB rushed for 207 yds.

Conner had 77 before getting hurt.
