Jaybo- Judge for yourself

I went through the entire GT roster looking for potential QB's and slotbacks.

Dominique Reese was the best QB prospect I saw.

Correy Earls seems like a possibility at SB. GT is an unusually tall team at WR and DB, which is not ideal for a transition to the flexbone.

I would not want to pull him from safety...but Morgan Burnett ran it.

I really think we are going to be looking for a better passing dual-threat QB than a pure run option like Reese...so he can run a 70/30 run/pass combination as opposed to the 85/15 at Navy. But what do I know.

I was thinking we need someone to backup Nesbitt. I'm not sure what good TB or Booker will do us.

I am one of those who doesn't think he will.

Maybe not...I just think that we would need at least capable back up for the spring. Jaybo nor Taylor will be here until Summer. The offense will take enough time to install without having to also design plays for our traditional QBs.

I don't disagree. But unfortunately this is the challenge transitioning from a pro-style offense to option.

PJ will have to adapt...bottom line...I don't see him coming in here from day one and forcing option down everyone's throat. I see him starting the basis for option, and using what he has to mix in an offense; slowly morphing it into HIS option offense over the year/years.

I dont know about that 33jacket. I fully expect that after this bowl game we will never see Taylor or Booker take another snap.

I think both Taylor and Booker could play in the new system. Taylor used to be a TE, and Booker showed good mobility and good decision making vs UGA, imo. They might not be rockstars, but your QB doesn't need to be a rockstar to run option, he just needs to be smart with the football, and needs to pay attention to detail. The QB doesn't have to be able to rip a 30 yard run, he just needs to be able to reliably get enough to force the D to designate one LB to tackle him. It's just a way to take a defender out of the play.

The new adminstration will need to be careful when it comes to Taylor. He is very popular with the little kids and the moms and dads, he was also an integral part of the recruiting process for many of the younger offensive players (including Nesbitt, Renfree, DJ, Beebe etc) and still could be. Did you ever watch how many autographers lined up to get TB's signature after a game. or the hundreds of kids that lined up after the spring game?? Taylor's leadership as a workaholic goes along way as well. All that and more won't be easy to allienate when you're thinking long term for the program.

Excuse me but I'll trust Coach Johnson's judgement over yours. We get the message, you are a North Hall fan, you do not like Jaybo or Flowery Branch. Give it a rest.

And I am sure CJ will sleep much better tonight knowing you are in his corner.

My reply was to yellajacket32, but my sentiments apply to you as well. I am sure CPJ would appreciate support from all Tech fans. Almost 30 years coaching winning football versus 27-99 posts on an internet message board, it wasn't a stretch for me to reach that conclusion.

I'm not sold on Bennett not being able to run the option, honestly.
