Jaybo Shaw = American Bada$$

And if our team had 100% of his intellect and height they wouldn't have found the door knobs on their dorm room doors.

Well, it seems jerks come in all shapes and intellects.

FWIW, I think I would've rather had Reggie at QB this year than Taylor, as sad as that sounds :(

I don't know OF from adam, but if he didn't like CG then I guess you could have that confusion.

what I want to know...is a while back you were defending a former SA up and down made the statement you would defend any former SAs, and u and I got in a debate about it (as I stated I never saw you come to RB's defense); here we have a thread where someone is bashing RB....u going to come to his defense, I did.

Not going to get on a tangent here...but I thought it was relevant.

If I'm not mistaken I was talking about athletes that I played with and knew. I never met reggie ball so know I can't defend him. I've heard good and bad but since I don't know the kid I don't make judgements on him or other athlete's I didn't play with. When I played people would get their heads slapped or ridiculed by players if they made stupid comments. While I like Jaybo's confidence, coming from another athlete who played at Tech I would like for him to keep his mouth shut until he did something on the field. But hey that's just me.

Reggie Ball was a top recruit coming out of HS. He could have run the Joe Ham option. Gailey was skeert to try it. (Dbo) Maybe Gailey was right. Maybe if he hadn't've treated our program so conservatively we would have lost more games while we fumbled away games trying to master the option. But it wasn't Reggie, it was Gailey and his uber-conservative/NFL approach that made it an ignorant and painful process. I'll never believe less than Reggie Ball's potential was squandered under CCG's direction. Chan Gailey was chicken to run the option offense which we were suited for. I'll take this conviction to my grave. He never did it and if he was asked why (and I did ask) he responding with indirect and dismissive bs. Apparently our QBs were just too stupid to do anything other than prop up his NFL OC game plans. They were incapable of running an option game a few series a game?!! We would be lucky to win 7 a year, by their words and actions/lack of action, and Gailey and Braine were pulling down a couple/three mil a year? I'm calling complete and total bs.

yes u are right. you defended T Roof, after I had claimed he was a poor coach and DC. And I don't disagree with you; if you are going to talk you have to back it up on the field. But the talking Hammy did while here and Reggie is part of their attitude and fire and while Joe could back it up more it also fuels players...its their makeup. Point is you can't ask john mcenroe to be quiet and expect him to perform the same...it is who he is. I don't mind it.....personally i would like a player to be that way then mum....football is an emotional sport.

What does this have to do with anything? Maybe he defended Ted Roof because he played with Ted Roof. I don't understand the point of making this comment.

Football is an emotional sport but it you have to be smart to play it. My motto is respect all Fear no one

33, Until you prove it on the field just keep quiet. thats all.

No, I've been drinking. I meant offensive lineman have to be smart.

I have a Dexter Manley story for late r,,,,,,

my eyes are crossing now.

it doesn't have to do with anything, I was just remembering the conversation john and I had; and brought up the topic and what sparked his defense of ted...thats all.

Of course, what does RB have to do with this thread anyway, outside waco's initial comment and the few responses after...this whole thread is on a tangent

Rerailing, I believe Jaybo Shaw is indeed an American Badass, but without the dollar signs.

Couldn't agree more....however wasn't sure how the language would be taken though I've seen plenty of worse on the board. Regardless I read the statement as one of commitment to CPJ from Jaybo and not one of cockiness. What I took from it is the point he wanted to be the first qb to do it and would work as needed to get there.

Shaw, who has been running the option offense since he was age 5

Being a youth coach myself, I get a kick out of picturing a 5 year old "running" the option offense. His options were run it up the middle or run it around the end! :laugher:

Seriously, FB has a great up and coming HS program, and I'm all for a guy with his kind of self-confidence.
