Jeff @ the AJC Says GT's is now tougher...

I still think we win both games against Miami and FSU. I'm glad we sucked against JSU, although I feel bad for the boys this week. Paul Johnson is probably making their lives hell.

Looking fwd to his comments on that subject tonight at 7pm in his call-in show!

Most of those passes were dead on the money, often into reasonably good coverage, and we couldn't have done any better.

We better score 40 on Miami because they're going to score in the 30s guaranteed.
Come on. I like Jacory and all, but most of his big passes were so wide open he could've punted it to the receiver.

After watching the Wake game, I'm not so sure that BC or NCS will not be much better than them.

Personally, I disagree seeings how both teams scored more points last year and it was almost as close.

I guess now we have to listen to "Da "U" is back" and FSU's is great.

Both those teams looked much improved over last year.

I totally agree with Jeff on this one. We need to get our act together and in a hurry, which I think we can do.

We'll see. That's why we play the games.

Did you guys really think that @ FSU and @ Miami would be easy games?

Clemson, Miami, UNC, FSU, VT, and Ugag are all coin flips, IMO. If we can win 4 of the 6, we'll probably end up with 9 wins going into a bowl game.

@Miami isn't so tough. It's barely considered a road game since nobody shows up.

Miami got rid of Patrick Nix. That's a couple of wins per year right there.

Come on. I like Jacory and all, but most of his big passes were so wide open he could've punted it to the receiver.

He was cool in the pocket, aside from the obvious mistakes, and their O line looked stout.

Schultz is clueless on college football as usual.

"Once a late-season game of national significance, the two were now meeting to open the season."

This game has never been played at a consistent time of year, ever. It has been all over the calendar since day one, and it still is now that they are in the ACC.

These teams looked similar to last year to me, dangerous and inconsistent on both sides of the ball. I agree that Harris and Ponder are improved, however, and that will make them both very tough as road opponents.

I went down to visit friends there and was at this game, just got back around 7 pm tonight. First of all, very very awesome game. Had a blast. Say what you will about FSU, but what an atmosphere. The tailgating was great.

Coming away from this game, we need to consider both of these teams more seriously. Both will continue to improve, but what I was impressed with was the QB play. Harris was obviously very good; I saw him play in the state championship of FL HS with Miami NW against my high school from central FL, Lake Brantley, and man has that kid improved. Also thought Christian Ponder was looking solid as well, which is surprising in the first game. Seems like usually it takes FSU a while to get their QB situation figured out.

I think our D will match up well with FSU's young defense, although Dekoda Watson is a baller at LB. Their secondary will probably get torched a few times when we play them. Still not sure what to think about Miami's defense, but I think our run-first, smash mouth football will shut some of them up. We just have to be physical.
