Yeah, so that is absolutely mesh rail but the HB in jet motion isn't the rail, the RB is, and the jet motion pulls the nickel out of the play to make space for the rail, the playside LB has to take the rail, which opens the crossing route in the mesh. That's what made it confusing to me, I was looking for the rail out of the HB.

Which makes me wonder if we can actually run mesh rail with the jet motion running the rail and an extra WR in the formation. No RB at all, H back only, extra WR. Like out of that bunch formation we ran the QB counter out of.
 
That's a great video BTW. Looks like we rant that jet sweep motion to smash route concept at least twice. The later time we completed it but it was the exact same play we overthrew that could have been that long TD. It's a great concept.

On the overthrow, the WR briefly trips around the 5. It would have still been an overthrow, but much closer imho.
