He has decided to leave the tech family. Its offical now. At least he didnt get fired. NO MATTER WHAT THE TECH FAMILY SHOULD STILL LOVE JOE. Never seen a better player. THWG.

hey, Joe, where you going with that beer in your hand?

Hopefully, when he gets all this straightened out, and a couple of years pass, he can come back.

Come on have some respect for joe. Yea it would be nice to see him on the flats again.

Sounds like Joe was really toasted. Wonder who his drinking buddies were?

Hopefully he can, but I doubt it. I just don't think people can change but so much. If you're an idiot today then you'll probably be an idiot tomorrow and still be one 5 years from now.

I guess its best that he stepped down :( just hate to see him go.

That is totally out of line ..... ARSEHOLE

dude, its a song with lyrics slightly changed, get over it. JoeHam is and will always be one of my favorite GT players and i love him for what he gave to the team and the university. who are you to tell me anything, you dont know anything about me or my relationship to Joe.

when you really want to cry, sometimes laughing is the best way to get over it

People can change. Some people do change. Joe isn't an idiot; he's a Tech graduate. I just hope he isn't an alcoholic. For alcoholics, change becomes very difficult, generally requires special help, and requires a very strong willed and dedicated individual.

Did you not read the AJC article? Hit and run, MJ possesion, blew a .199. I don't care if he graduated from Harvard, that's idiotic!

I wish this had not happened, but even smart people do stupid things. I'll respect Lil Joe for what he did, and what he meant to the brave and the bold. Joe get it straightened out and I'll pull for you like I did when you were up for the Heisman and you put on the gold and left it all on the field.

ANYBODY can choose not to drink. There are Judges, Lawyers, Doctors, and etc. who are alcoholics who choose not to drink.

Even if lil joe is not an alcoholic he could stop drinking get some treatment and attend meetings and he could get his life back.

I think if my job depended on it I could quit drinking forever.

Most people who drink also drive at least occasionally. Statistically it may take 50x's driving drunk to get 1 DUI. It may not be that high but it is at least 10x to 1.

I will tell you that if someone gets hurt and you are drinking then there is a good chance you will be going to prison.

I hate defending DUI cases in court.

Interesting. So you never made a bad choice? You have no idea if Joe drinks once in a blue moon or is a raving alcoholic, but the fact is people do change and he can get himself together if he's strong enough. ELI made mistakes when he was younger and Tech didn't turn it's back on him. David Thompson had his problems but State stood by him and helped him get things turned around. You may doubt Joe can get it together, and I can doubt that you have any idea what you're talking about. How's that?

You guys talk like getting plowed on cinco de mayo is some kind of crime. His crime was not drinking. It was driving. It was dumb, and he should have known better.

He could have called Stingerette and asked to be dropped off at ANY frat house, and they would have given him a place to crash.

I never said I haven't made a bad choice, I'm just smart enough not to drink and drive....with weed....around a college campus....after I just got hired for a great job. As for you doubting me, I couldn't care less.

Yeah, I'm not sure how one drunk night makes somebody an alcoholic. Stupid for driving, definitely, and most certainly stupid for the chronic and then the open container to top everything off.

The ironic thing is it's because he blew a .19 that he did all this. At .08, I doubt he would ever consider driving around Tech. That's why you burn your keys while sober.

I don't see the irony. Your thought is that at .08 the fool would be drunk, but not driving. At .19 he is so drunk, that he indeed also drives. Where's the irony?

I was thinking the more drunk you get, the more you shouldn't drive. I find it ironic that the more people shouldn't drive, the more likely they are to drive. And I don't mean it as in "Ha ha" irony either.

Head Up Ass = Zero.

I just hope there wasn't a woman involved.

"oh yeah, baby. I'll get you your (this/that)"

Sounding more and more like a dawg attack. Those fine folks over there would never stoop to ****.

Joe's toast, btw.

Very sad situation that we can't really do anything about. All the best to Joe even if he is a crazy man driving around campus drinking and getting stoned. And not throwing it out after the 'hit and run.' The whole scenario makes sense to me.
