John Bond quote is not something you hear much....

The Jacket, we should thrash ND, but then again we could have done that last year too. I am not bashing Chan, but thrashing anyone is just not in his mindset. Accordingly, we will play ND close and unfortunately may lose (50/50 I'd say) because of this mindset.

5) IMO, the main reason why we lost both the UGAy and WF game was the defense "gave out" at the end of the game from being on the field to long.

Disagree. Our defense just plain screwed up in those games. The offense has plenty of problems but you can't lay every defenssive failure at the foot of the offense as well. Gailey's offense catered to the defense, favoring ball control over scoring. I hated that.

As a stat, time of possession is one of the worst indicators of success even though common wisdom continues to think it is important. I'd much rather have a buffer in the score than to chew clock all game.

Recently, our defense has a much better reputation among fans and announcers than our stats justify. They shut down some opponents but in other cases were ineffective.

What crack are you smoking? We held WF to two scores and UGA to one legitimate scoring drive. Everything else was Reggie Ball's fault.

What in the world kind of crap are you spewing. Your defense is on teh freakin' field the entire freakin' game, usually starting near or past midfield, and only give up 3 field goals to WF and one TD to Ugag. What more could you possibly want from them, other than an interception or fumble return for a TD, which is about the only thing they didn't do.
You can only ask so much from a D, you have to be able to score at TD.

They actually weren't on the field that much in either game. The offense didn't help them, but they shouldn't have been tired in the 4th quarter of either one.

I hope our defense continues to screw up to the tune of allowing 8 points/game against bowl quality opponents.

If we could have gotten our completion percentage up to a craptacular 40%, we would have won both of those games.

We played 7 teams that went to bowls including the team we played in the Gator. They averaged 22.5 points against our defense.

Averaged 19.9 vs our defense. That is tossing out two QB fumble returns and an opening KO return.

Clemson and WV were defensive meltdowns. Wake and GA were not. Miami and VT both scored TD's late against our prevent.
