Johnson vs D-Rad

I like the throwback color whatever that is. It would be distinctive, can't think of anybody else using it.

Old Gold will look like sh!t with a gold helmet. Remember we wore a white helmet in the throwback game.
What color did we wear in the 80s? The gold we used to use on for pants wasn't Vegas until O'Leary. It was a deeper color, but not the throwback gold either. We never used it for a jersey color, but it also wasn't the urine yellow of the last 10 years either.

Someone needs to make a compendium of all the uniforms we have worn. I'm not afraid to admit being into clothing/style. I would really enjoy this.

Understated is best!

I have to declare BS on this one . . .

. . . I can guarantee you that Coach Johnson could give a Rat's Ass about what color gold we wear. If he is like most men he would probably let his wife pick the colors if he had any input at all.

Here is what the plan is. I heard it directly from a prominent old guard booster at practice yesterday. We are going to wear White Jerseys, Gold Pants and Gold Helmets for all road games and for all home games that our opponent will consent to us wearing. When our opponent exercises their right to wear the white road jersey we will wear, old gold jerseys like the throwback jerseys we wore against Virginia back in 2006, White Pants and suprise, White Helmets. Blue will not be used.

All the Nike avante gaurde swoosh stripes on pants and jerseys will not be playing at any Georgia Tech theatres near you. We will be old school traditional Georgia Tech.

Go Jackets!

Jerry the J, this is exactly almost word per word that my friend FORTEBUNA said Rad told him. He's old and you may have met him.

I like this plan. I've always liked the idea of one uni and my favorite of all time is the classic gold helmet, white (old school design) jersey, gold pants. If we're forced by the opposition to wear dark jerseys at home, then the throwbacks from '06 are my favorite.

I'm all for pleasing the athletes, but I'm more for upholding a traditional look ala Penn State, ND, Bammer, etc.

We're going old school with our coach, why not keep it consistant with our look. Just my 2 cents.

Actually, that is completely wrong. I hung out with one of the players last night and was looking at pictures on his phone of the (amazing) new navy blue jerseys. He said that they will be used for our big games and Thursday night games. The new Gold jerseys have the same shade of gold as last year's jersey and the new whites are SHARP! I can't wait to see them out on the field.

The focus seems to be wrong.

IF we wear Gold shirts at home, the shade does not matter. What would matter is if we wear a White hat coz the Gold hat is never going to match the Gold shirt.

Home - White, Gold, White

Road - Gold, White, Gold.

Throwback to the National Champ uni for a special game - Gold, Blue (would like to see Gold numbers), White.

Change the pants stripes to the way they were on throwbacks. Take names of back. Put Georgia Tech on front of shirts (like some midwest teams).

Kick butt.

Vegas Gold = Urine, pale, kind of has a greenish tint depending on lighting
Old Gold = Throwback unis from 2006, originally used in 1969-70

Nice observation, ramblinwise. I have hated our latest home unis for the longest time. They aren't that bad in the daytime. However, night games the jerseys are hideous because the color has too much green in it, and they blend in with the field. There isn't enough contrast.

I for one am praying that this is the truth. I'm all for staying with the classic look. Tradition aside, unis look better without all the piping and sh%%ty diagonal stripes.

The throwback jerseys and the Navy jerseys we wore in 1990 and the 2006 ACCCG are the best we've got.

I do not like the all gold unis we wore against Auburn in 03'. It was the first game Reggie won as a Jacket.

I like the Navy and White jersies from the Pic posted on TheMachine, honestly.

Buncha old farts around here got their panties in a wad over them though. /shrug.

:dunno:

here is the pic from the '05 game, also not gold on gold, but white tops on gold pants

This post is useless without names. I hang out with old farts and I have never heard this from any of them. As a matter of fact, us old farts have seen every Tech uniform imaginable over the last fifty plus years and it seldom is a topic for conversation (unlike what you little farts seem to want to discuss all the time).

a fart is a fart, they all smell bad.

While I support the traditional Old Gold and White, all I want to do is win!
