Jojatk

i post both here an on the Hive (and even the dreaded Buzzoff) but I find this board that have more consistantly entertaining and intelligent conversation although there are some very good posters over there.

There seem to be alot of overly sensative - if you critisize anything then you really don't want the team to win or your an idiot - type posters, which I find very annoying.

I think most of the good posters, insiders, etc. are generally hidden in the "insiders" secret portion of the Hive that requires moulah.

But I am addicted there and here regardless, but the Hive has definitely changed over the years. Today, I may make a post and if it is responded to quickly, I'll revisit. Otherwise, it seems impossible to find anything that I've said, so I don't bother anymore.

That is true midatlanta. There are so many threads on the Hive, and so many about similar topics that it's hard to find something later at times. I do think they would benefit from separating the board by sports.

I agree that it would be easier to find things if it were separted by sport. Not sure if it would make the lives of my fellow moderators and I any easier but I think the idea merits consideration.

well Buzzoff won't let me on, so I don't know if that qualifies as being banned or not. :)

Banned from both the Hive and Buzzoff. How many can claim that?

I've been banned from BO twice, the second time without even posting over there! How many can claim that?!

I don't know if I was ever banned or not from buzzoff. I quit going there and don't remember how to get on anymore...of course I don't miss it at all either.

I just recently joined here, but I like both boards for different reasons. I can double my vocabulary over here by adding a modicum of swearing and as mentioned the smaller community makes it easier to find topics.

The Hive still is the best place for informational posts by folks like RamblinRed. I post less over there than I used to, but read a whole lot more.

Oh and being a moderator on a large community sucks and pretty much completely kills your ability to go back and enjoy the community. Especially on places like the Hive where it's non-anonymous moderation.

Not particularly. :)

Although I do wonder if they archived the thread that got me kicked, instead of just deleting it. I'd like to go back and read what was said. Memories fade.
I remember the thread beej. Let's just say that if you took everybody up on their offer, you would have a year's supply of free beer.

Checking the Hive right now, the last post on the front page was from just over an hour ago. That's quite a difference from two football seasons ago, when the front page could go back to yesterday.

There's some good posts there, but too many auto-replies that only regurgitate what I already know. Here, I feel guilty if my post doesn't contribute something people may have not read before.

...while ducking the other half of the thread as they tried to lynch me.

But yeah. I do kinda want to know who offered me the beers. I might need them one day.

If the Hive was worth a sheet...

Now that RR has moved on they should go back and un-ban all the people they have banned. Amnesty if you will. I still get the "you have been banned" page if I go back under my normal scout.com login that I use for other scout boards I visit.

If the Hive really wanted to be more than an ego trip for "we five" then they would do this.

Even as a bannee, I have to disagree. With a board that has that high traffic, they don't dare let in all the banees. Think of how many mutts would show up, for starters.

Gotta break a few eggs to make an omlette.

I have not been banned from any GT boards (or from Buzzoff either :)), but to give you an idea of what kind of total geek loser I am, I have been banned from an iPAQ discussion board.

I am not making this up.
