Josh Downs was named Gwinnett County receiver of the year tonight...then this

Takeaways -

1 -“Home town school.” The way it should be.

2 - previously committed? Other offers?

Thx.

Think about this. He was hired on Friday.

Today was technically his first day on the job and he flipped a commit from one of our rivals.

On day 1.

It is exciting and nice work coach.

It is worth adding the context that the rival recently fired its coach, meaning the coaches that had recruited the athlete are no longer there.

We were helped there by two coaching changes, not just the one.

True, but he didn't decommit until after his visit here this weekend.

I think the mega threads are a great idea because seeing every kid that's ever offered name as a thread and every high school that the coach ever visits in a separate thread is going to get old. But people are excited so that's a good thing.

It's fun watching you guys go ape öööö over a coach offering kids as if our old coaches never offered any kids.

Is there going to be a separate thread for every kid that's offered now?
It's called excitement. We haven't had it in a few years. Let us enjoy the moment.

Not to mention one of the others had already committed, and CGC is only 1 day in.

At this rate, we might need a completely separate sub-forum for football recruiting.
You know Collins only has until Sunday to recruit and offer kids for the upcoming signing day next Wednesday so of course he's working his ass off.

Part of it has to do with entering recruiting battles against peer or rival schools. It’s much more fun flipping a kid from unc than it is one of the academies or Georgia Southern.

Not committed yet. He's a 2020 prospect. 4* recruit with 20 offers. Michigan, Oregon, Ole Miss, UNC, NC State - to make a few. No offer from UGA yet.

Yeah, I get that. Which means it's only going to get crazier around here. Sunday's coming though.

# 26 recruit in the state. He is 5'9" 160 so probably why we didn't offer before since CPJ needs big WRs for blocking.
