LOL if they are saying the most Deion ever drew was 28,000. I can't blame Deion for leaving that situation if he was having to fund the football team out of his pocket.

The real reason Deion left was that he wanted to go to P5. That's why last offseason he said he was looking for a P5 offer.

Sad none of the loud race grifters actually would put their money where there mouths have been. They had a chance here to bring back HBCU football but yet again past on actually trying to create anything.

I'm not sure why there is any interest on a Tech board to comment on HBCU football. I don't give a rats ass about it. Despite all the free promo's from loudmouths on ESPN, it is nothing more than political correctness. I believe Furman, Mercer, The Citadel etc. are far more deserving of publicity if anyone is going to dish it out. I don't care about Deion, reminds me of another Greatest President Ever that was all splash and no results.

And here you are reading and commenting about him. People don't have to like him, but everyone's going to notice him. Because he's Deion, an interesting, galvanizing person. He will always attract attention.

I am more or less ambivalent about Deion. Aside from marveling at his highlight reels, that's it for me. I have no idea if he's a good guy or not. He's clearly ambitious. I think the jury is still out on how good a coach he is. I am always amused when folks have passionate conviction one way or the other on that. My money is on him being a flop, and I base that on my perception that he's a self-obsessed blowhard.

But I could be wrong.

I once knew a former Falcons defensive backs coach and he unequivocally stated that Deion was the best DB he ever coached. This guy played and coached at multiple places. No hesitation.

Why are there so many angry old men on this board?

He was probably the best cornerback to ever play. You can make arguments for a couple of others, but he is 100 percent top 5. I think he was the best. And I have a lot of company in folks who know much more about the game than I do.

He was also beyond flashy. Neon Deion. Prime Time.

He didn't just shut down the greatest receivers in the world single-handedly, he returned nine INTs for TDs. He scored another nine TDs on kick and punt returns - flash plays. He also played receiver and caught 3 TDs. Ran for a TD. Returned a fumble for a TD. I think that is just about every way you can score a TD. All while playing parts of NINE seasons in the major leagues - including a World Series where he batted over .500 in 17 plate appearances.

No one has a resume like that. No one.

Why are there so many angry old men on this board?
Shut up and get off my lawn!
