JSU's Coach Crowe talks about how they can beat Tech

That article says they are playing us at Noon. I am assuming that is CDT. Otherwise they are going to be tired after playing by themselves for an hour before Tech gets out there. :-)

So if we screw up twice, we lose to Jax St?

r u serios? u cannot b serios

I think he's got the G-W game in mind, knowing that on any given day.... He has to have his guys ride over here believing they can win.

In reality, I don't think he really thinks it a rational possibility. Easily < 1%.

They'd have a better chance if they all prayed to Odin and Thor to smite their enemy.

I agree with Coach Crowe. I think he's right. In fact, he's so right that I wanted to do my small part to help publicize what he said. I am confident that our coaching staff is or will be made aware of it in case they might have any use for Coach Crowe's thoughts.

He has to say stuff to motivate his team. I don't blame him. In the back of his mind he knows they don't have a chance in hell.

Let's just hand them the ball twice to start the game and then beat the bejesus out of them.

I don't think this is simple motivation. It's idiocy to say that if we hiccup twice, they will beat us. It's kind of insulting.

Yes but if you say it where it can go public, then it becomes motivation for GT players more than for the JSU players.

He can say these kind of things to his team, but as soon as it comes out, it's our motivation.

GO JACKETS!!!

Well, it is true that his statement is very similar to saying, "Georgia Tech will have to play virtually mistake-free to beat Jacksonville State." And it is true that such a statement is usually made when the team that would have to play mistake free is, say, Youngstown St, and the other team is, oh, Oklahoma. But I'm sure Coach Crowe is just trying to motivate his team.

He's got to fire up his team. He has to make us seem beatable in the eyes of his players. It's fine. No biggie. ;)

Yes, but by quantifying the number of "hicups" we have to make for them to have a chance at victory, he sounded like a mongoloid. If they didn't think they had a chance at victory, they wouldn't be playing us.

What do you expect the opposing coach to say?
"Well, we're going to march our sorry butts into Bobby Dodd Stadium and let GT pull our little girl panties down and spank our ass in front of a packed stadium. Then we're going to say THANK YOU SIR, MAY I HAVE ANOTHER! After that, we're going to fill out applications to be GT's waterboys for the rest of the season because quite frankly, our football team sucks!"

Publicly I expect them to say, "Georgia Tech is a very good football team but we have a good football team as well. We'll come out playing our hardest and it will be a good game"

Privately I expect them to tell their team pretty much what they said publicly that they can beat us, all it will take is a hiccup or two and they can embarrass us.

Seems they got that reversed, and now what should have been motivation for their team, will do more to motivate ours than theirs.

If our team needs such motivation from the head coach of an underdog team, our season is in big trouble.

Take everything you are handed. Use everything.

I expect them to be motivated as much as possible for EVERY game this year.
