JT regressing?

Kill yourself. If you watched the game today, JT played very well. He had a bad fumble but other than that, he made good reads and his throws were on target with the exception of a few miscommunications with WRs (ran a slant and go instead of a slant and curl or something along those lines).

We have true freshmen playing all over the field, an O line that was letting 2-4 Pitt players into the backfield on every passing play, and somehow JT is Reggie Ball because he is "regressing"? If he didn't regress from last year with the ragtag supporting cast around him, he'd be the best QB in NCAAF history by a long shot.

The problem with the WIDE OUTS is as puzzling as the OLINE play... Summers is a Senior and Juene is a Red Shirt Sophmore.... I saw the majority of passes in the second half not on target due to (JT arm being hurt??) or he and the wideouts not on the same page (ie back shoulder throw)

Interesting to me that our issues are not true freshman BB M. Marshall or True Freshman LB B. Mitchell....

He played ok in some situations but bad in others ... No reason to take a sack when he could have easily thrown it away... R ball like

I haven't seen anyone but maybe Wreck Em agree with you here. Everyone else appears to be in agreement with my position that you can't say he's regressed given what he has to work with.

Goodnight!

That's fine. That's why I posted the thread...to see what others thought about my question. I can live with being in the minority with my opinion. I, too, conceded that the OL sucks, but I just haven't seen anything from JT showing progress this year ( which admittedly is difficult to judge given all of the other circumstances everyone has mentioned). Trust me, I will be ecstatic if he proves me wrong the rest of this year or in 2016. And for the record, I am not at all suggesting we need to change QBs.

I don't agree that he's regressed but his fumble and errant pitch were game changers.

Completely agree with you about the WRs. Not sure why all the miscommunication between qb and wr today. Haven't gone back and watched it yet, but my impression at the game is that the receivers were making the wrong reads based on the coverage (i.e. running a go when coverage called for a come back which JT threw).

Well This season is playing well for a run in 2016, say we go 2-10 and the hill keeps CPJ... He probably will win 9 games in 2016 and win his 4th ACC Coach of the year and get another three to four year contract extension thru 2024.... However I am wondering what the over/under is on when CPJ will fire his current DC and get his 4th DC???

Guess what, ööögot, the Hill will keep him because he has taken us to two Orange Bowls, three ACCCGs, and he has a ööööING CONTRACT. Go be a miserable öööööööööö somewhere else.

This year would look very, very different if JT had Calvin Johnson to throw to.

While I am excited to point out to the dawg fans that from 2008 GT not UGA we have been to three BCS/NEW year six bowls... However it does hurt that LSU and IOWA kicked our butts in those bowls.... That is why 2014 felt so good... CPJ did it with his kids and won the OB...

Also the three ACCCG really is two, since we backed into the one with UNC and Miami basically pulling their programs from it... Then when you go down that bunny trail it leads to the 2009 title being striped and the IOWA beat down...ugghhh..... and only beating UGA twice...08/14..... Which brings up the 2010,11,12,13 and 15 seasons as being poor....

However having two 10 plus winning season at GT is an awesome feat and I am thankful.... Just hate this 5 game losing streak....feels like 1994 all over again.. the OLINE play, WR play...feels like CPJ has or is losing the team...

I love the fans that think our low point for QB play is a four year starter that graduated with a winning record.

Get over yourselves.

Ball's inconsistency caused perception issues for fans. When he was having a good day he was one of the best QBs in college football (flame away), but when he didn't have a good outing he was being compared against himself which made him look really bad.

I think Thomas is as good as Ball ever was, maybe even better. Thomas never gets worse than mediocre, however, whereas Ball had some really bad games.

I am thankful JT5 has not been killed on the field due to CPJ's ego and sewak' stupidity.

But hey, IIWII.

I never said Ball was the low point for QB play, just that he did not improve during his four years. I would say I don't think anyone would argue that point but this is stingtalk so somebody will.

He is trying to do too much.

And at some point you can't really blame him. Very few around him are doing anything. Especially when it comes to blocking.

He had a nice fake pitch which allowed him a long run.

No idea if his pitch to no-where was on him or the pitch man.

His throws seem OK when he has time (R. Juene's TD catch as a great ball).

Not sure if I could even speculate if our QB has regressed this season as it seems like half the plays are busts. No real way to grade, IMO.

There are some truly stupid people in this thread.
