How do we know GASO's coach is better? His only head coaching gig (I think) he took one of the easiest schools to win at from #3 in the country to a losing record.

Why do you think Southern Cal is easy to win at? Their only period of sustained success recently was under Pet Carroll who now coaches an NFL team and should have 2 Super Bowls.

Helton had one losing season there and a 46-24 record.

I live in Houston and have a buddy that is tied into Austin and this is the impression Herman made at UT. Heard stories like this from his time at UH.

“ So Tom Herman got an honorary membership to AUstin Country Club as most head coaches do. He would show up with a cooler and bring his own beer like he was at a Muny. He was a dick to the entire staff and everyone hated him. The locker room guy has been there 40 years and is legendary and loved by all...nicest guy ever. Tom treated him like dog öööö. They pulled his membership after one year. Ha. Not surprised but thought it was interesting to pass on nonetheless. ”
