Just one break...

None of these are missed "breaks". These are all failures to execute, aka öööö ups.

A break is if the other team's running back trips on his shoelaces in the open field. Missing a tackle is not a missed break. Every item on your list was completely within our control to make happen...we just failed to do so.

We didn't get any breaks either

Marshall admitted he made a poor decision on the 2pt conversion attempt too. He should have pitched to Benson or kept running to the edge, every time you see a guy running with the ball come to a complete stop to try and change direction, you can pretty much guarantee that is where they are going down.

Kicker....no excuse for the last one. The situation was "ok kid, either be the hero or we win in OT and some other guy is the hero...why not just make it."

Pitiful. I'm sure he tried his best but if that's good enough to walk on at GT, we've got about 100 male/female students whose first language isn't English that can walk on. They all play soccer and are much better

This drives me crazy. Lower your shoulder, initiate contact and push the tackler back. When you stop to cut back you always come out a couple yards worse off unless you're Barry Sanders.

We are up 21-7 with the ball @7:20 remaining in the 3rd Qtr in Tennessee territory...no way regulation should have ended 28-28.

Missed opportunities:
1. Block below the waist 15yd penalty on 1st down gaining run
2. Marshall on money w/ 3rd & 7 pass, Jeune drops
3. Brutally bad 47yd FG try
4. Tennessee 3rd & 3 runs ridiculous pick play for 1st down.
5. 5yd curl turns into 50yd TD for TENN
6. Marshall goes out w/apparent stinger 10:30 left in game. Offense stalls under MJ.
7. MJ throws deep pass to Searcy over middle. Clear contact ignored by refs. Pass too far to middle of the field.
8. Green fumbles ball on 25 yd line on what would have been the game winning drive.
9. Searcy wide open in corner of end zone overthrown by Marshall. Hit while throwing.
10. 36yd FG to win game...terrible kick, blocked.
11. 2pt conversion attempt fail.

.....so at a minimum I think there were 11 opportunies that would have won us the game had they ended differently. They did not. Can do nothing but move forward.

Go Jackets!

In fairness to Juene, I'd hardly consider this a drop. Tenn CB made a textbook play to knock the ball out before Juene could fully secure it.

No he did not. Jeune had buttefingers well before the defender got his hands in. He could've easily made the reception here.

Well crap. I must've had a bad angle from where I was sitting.

Thanks for posting the screenshots.

The corner was in great position and he could've very well made a play and knocked it loose had Jeune brought it in first, but we'll never know. Have to at least bring those in and make the other guy make a play.
