Just Sad

Let’s do it at the game. Have the team come out of the tunnel without the RW. Then right before kickoff have the PA announce “Fans, please pay attention as we have a special announcement from President Cabrera.” Then RW drives onto the field with Cabrera at the wheel. He stops right in front of the team and gets out with a microphone in his hand. Camera pans to him, he says “Todd Stansbury and Geoffrey Collins, you’re both fired effective immediately. Security please escort these gentlemen out of the premises.” The crowd of 4000 fans erupts, it’s a mad house. We’re throwing helluvienna beers in the air and chanting CABRERA. Cabrera rips his shirt off and starts yelling WOOOOO. Then he gets into RW and drives off and we beat Duke 45-3.

Does Vince McMahons theme music play while Cabrera drives out or as he leaves or both?

I think you are seriously overestimating the size of the crowd.

This is the same jack hole who last season during his press conference stood there refusing to answer a question and just smiled For the longest of time. What a whore he is.
Whores have their uses.
He doesn't.

I want some of what you are having :D

If they let him back in BDS, holy hell...that's a new level of embarrassment for the program. The fans who attend will only do so out of motivation to vent their frustrations at him.

Seriously. If we're 1-4 and he's still the coach for Duke, that's going to be a really ugly situation in terms of the crowd.

Next candidate interviewing:

What are some of the things I should be aware of?
We do public firings. It's very medieval.

I would start tithing to the GTAA if he did this.

O/U for the attendance on 10/8 vs Duke if we're 1-4 and he's still employed.... 12,000 ?

Shouldn't be hard to pick out.
If has been that was already this season. I know it was wet, but this was just 10-15 minutes or so before kickoff against WC.

I counted 17 people in the UE. I realize it was sprinkling rain, but it wasn't really THAT bad of a rain. Normally, even with rain, you would have seen people.

I have had little to say since yesterday’s 42-0 disaster. I am not really angry; I don’t really have the right to be. I am just sad. I am sad for a man who wanted to come home and lead Tech football to a great place. I am sad for the players who have now been completely embarrassed in three of their last five games. I am sad for a coaching staff that cannot seem to turn the situation around, some of them former Tech athletes who wanted nothing more than for this to succeed. I am sad for the students, alums and fans who care about Georgia Tech and want to enjoy our football traditions. I never thought the Collins hire was a good one, but I sure wanted him to prove me wrong, still do. I will never wish for anything other than success for a Tech coach or team.

I do not favor firing Collins until the season plays out. We have played two of the best three teams on our schedule. If we could win six games this season it could be argued that Collins should get another year. I do not think this will happen. And, unless we win two of our next three, I think it will be just about impossible.

Our leadership should anticipate a coaching change will be made and be diligently exploring options so that they act decisively after Thanksgiving weekend. Until then, why not just support the team and yes, coaches, and wish for the best? Let’s enjoy what we can. I will make the trip for the Duke game as planned. Later in the season I am bringing the family with the young grandsons to enjoy a Tech football weekend against the U. I am sad that I don’t have more positive expectations for these trips and the rest of the season. But, I will do my best to push the sadness aside and come have a great weekend. Go Jackets and THWG! Keep the faith. Things will get better.
It is indeed sad. What's possibly sadder is that most of us could see it coming from day one. LIterally day one. I went to his first home game against USF with my wife. The money-down, juice-crew, rap-music, circus was a complete joke...and I told my wife then "If he's just going to focus on marketing, vibe, being a "player's coach", he'll never survive here..." It wasn't hard to see coming. At all. Whatever season it was he left Jeff ( I'm not a QB) Sims in after throwing his 4th or 5th pick against Syracuse, it should have been obvious. Rinse. Repeat. Rinse. Repeat. How it GOT this far is what is sad. And as an alum that has been going to Grant Field for 52 years, starting with a South Carolina game with my 1955 alum father...I vowed not to go back until he was gone.
Until this Saturday. My friend couldn't use his two tix and a parking pass at the last minute...so I went. When Jeff ( I'll NEVER be a QB) Sims made a lackluster effort for the chains on our very first series, which resulted in a blocked punt and a 14-0 deficit all because Jeff ( I COULDN"T PLAY QB
ANYWHERE IN DIVISION1 ) Sims obviously didn't have his head on right and ready to fight from the very first series.

It's sad alright. It's sad that people held on to any hope that this snake oil salesman would magically transform into a football coach.
