...nice lady. I was very impressed.

A few points that may be of interest.

1) Purchasing a pass for Student Center lots will allow you to
park and tailgate in ANY lot included in the group. You will not
be relegated to a specific lot.

2) Purchasing a pass for the AMC side of campus will allow
you to park and tailgate in ANY lot included in the group.
You will not be relegated to a specific lot.

O'Keefe is not available with the standard pass.

3) People who plan to bring down RVs (assuming you have
enough passes/space) can call Barb in advance to alert her
to the fact that you'll be coming in early. She sounded VERY
willing to work with RV owners.

4) GTAA will NOT be giving passes to rival fans and they will
not be taking cash on gamedays. So, if you see a rival fan in
the reserved lots its because they were given or scalped a
pass from someone who purchased it. (I made a point of
asking Barb about this and she was very clear about the fact
that she won't be selling to GT rivals.)

5) She made a point of asking that I call her if I felt the need
to give feedback or make suggestions that can be used to
fine tune and improve the system moving forward. I get the
impression that GTAA is getting ready for increased parking
demand in the future.

6) Requesting additional passes on my order was a snap. I'll
have two spots in the Student Center area, one of which I
will make available to tailgate buddies.

7) The lots will be opened earlier on days where
the games are late in the evening. So we will
will NOT have to wait until 4pm to set up for an
8pm kickoff time.

8) Lots of people panicked prematurely. =]

thanks CJ.... It looks like they have modified the plan "on the fly"... for the better.

Coldbeer,

It sounds like they are going to consider the AMC
lot as the RV-friendly location this coming year.

It'll be nice to see gold RVs and GT flags over
there instead of rival colors. =]

I spoke with Barb last night and today as well. We'll be purchasing spots in the AMC "zone" to try and stay near our old home in O'Keefe. I'll have more room to set up my goalposts and measuring tape to practice my kicking.

I don't think anyone panicked prematurely, CJ. I do think that the initial communication was handled poorly by the GTAA. I also think that a smaller number of lots should have been chosen for this "trial" (either the AMC zone or the Student Center zone, but not both this time around). Part of the blame rests with Parking for not approving the GTAA's proposal until July, but the GTAA should have taken communications into account and set a "drop dead" date for a decision from parking. Contingency planning is just good business.

However, Barb is doing a very good job of dealing with the complaints. She was pleasant both times I spoke with her, under trying circumstances.

I hope the response is good from GT fans, so they aren't tempted to sell any unsold spots on gameday!

Cracker Jacket,

If you can buy 5 passes, how about buying an extra one for me. I'll send you a check and you can mail me the pass!!!! I'd like to be in the Student Center lots too.

<font size="2" face="Arial, Verdana, Sans-Serif">I wish I'd known about your request yesterday
before I made changes to my order. SWMBO is
uptight about money because we're closing on a
house this Friday and my football expenditures
and plans continue to grow. (Season tix + GTAA
donations + road game plans + parking passes +
tailgating equipment...get the picture? =])

I'll have one spare pass that may be spoken for
already. But I'll put you at the top of the list
in case you cannot find another route to get one.
