I never did.

I thought it was dumb when people took the “missed assignments” mantra from CPJ as throwing kids under the bus. I can see how one could take it that way (perhaps even they are right), but I appreciated getting his take on what happened. That’s all, really. Some level of coach speak mixed with football analysis for what happened.

As I said, I acknowledge there’s a very fine line and really hard tight rope to walk as the head coach. I would just prefer to get some semblance of his take. Speak in cliches if he must.

“Poor effort”
“Bad game planning”
“Looking ahead”
“Too big for our britches”

I dont know - something more than buttoning up your lip. Even his safe space radio segment of Monday was really bland.
 
At this point I do not mind lining Oliver up at QB and letting him go off for 150 rushing yards, 150 pass yards, 1 TD and 3 interceptions. Probably would be better football than whatever the hell kind of offense we were running Saturday.

You can get a first down in OT, right? Why does this say 1st and Goal? For Citadel’s possession, it says 1st and 10.

Just ESPN being stupid and putting it in wrong. But Oliver was the QB for the first 2 plays in OT was the point I was making, refuting where some had implied that we 'should have just run the ball in overtime'. We tried that twice and it didn't work out so they brought in LJ because they believe him to be a better passer. Unfortunately, he made the cardinal sin of taking a sack and pushing the field goal attempt further back.

They wanted to use this game to find out what they had at the quarterback position. I don't think that the staff ever really thought losing the game was a possibility. They would rotate the qb's, get film to study later, and eventually overtake the Citadel and jog off with a win.

Fair enough. I think we found out. I hope we see something dramatically different vs. Temple.

I was told we used to do so but it was stopped by CPJ.
Gotta restart that emphasis.
