That's pretty much what I heard.Did Jordan Mason question the play calling in overtime? Watch from 5:55 to about 6:20.
Isn’t this what people used to criticize CPJ for? Now you are criticizing CGC for the opposite?
Was I supposed to listen to those idiots?Oh cool. Were you around two weeks ago when everyone on this board said they didn't want to see TO start another game at qb?
He realizes it. He wants a starting QB, he just doesn't feel that he has one, so he is staying on brand with the ATL thing. He may never "name" a starter, but it will be obvious when we have one.
Correct. Oliver ran the ball on 1st and 2nd down and LJ came in for 3rd and long, just as you said.
- 1st & Goal at CIT 25
(OT) Tobias Oliver run for 1 yd to the Citad 24
- 2nd & Goal at CIT 24
(OT) Jordan Mason run for 1 yd to the Citad 23
- 3rd & Goal at CIT 23
(OT) Lucas Johnson sacked by Joseph Randolph II for a loss of 5 yards to the Citad 28
46 plays on offense? Dayom I didn't know it was that low
Just ESPN being stupid and putting it in wrong. But Oliver was the QB for the first 2 plays in OT was the point I was making, refuting where some had implied that we 'should have just run the ball in overtime'. We tried that twice and it didn't work out so they brought in LJ because they believe him to be a better passer. Unfortunately, he made the cardinal sin of taking a sack and pushing the field goal attempt further back. You can get a first down in OT, right? Why does this say 1st and Goal? For Citadel’s possession, it says 1st and 10.
They wanted to use this game to find out what they had at the quarterback position. I don't think that the staff ever really thought losing the game was a possibility. They would rotate the qb's, get film to study later, and eventually overtake the Citadel and jog off with a win.I don't care if we call it starter, ATL, or whatever. Hell, I don't even mind rotating them if both bring something positive to the table.
But when one guy clearly outperforms the other, keep his ass in the game.
They knew we weren't getting a first down just like we all knewYou can get a first down in OT, right? Why does this say 1st and Goal? For Citadel’s possession, it says 1st and 10.
Fair enough. I think we found out. I hope we see something dramatically different vs. Temple. They wanted to use this game to find out what they had at the quarterback position. I don't think that the staff ever really thought losing the game was a possibility. They would rotate the qb's, get film to study later, and eventually overtake the Citadel and jog off with a win.
Its over we need to move on.
