I don’t want to get ahead of things, but I never recall there being this type of a buzz (pun intended) insofar as our recruiting is concerned. This gives me great hope.

Don't count your chickens until they hatch as they say in Lower Saxony. But as they say in North Rhine-Westphalia, I won't rain on your parade.

I think the new hire has just caused fans to pay more attention and become more optimistic. They are saying things like "CGC just offered a 4*!!!!" which, doesn't mean anything at the end of the day. We've offered 4* players for the past 11 years. If we can close on these bigger guys, then the hype will really start to increase.

I will say I was worried about GCG coming in and his time over lapping with CPJ's last few weeks. However, I think it's great that CGC has had the opportunity to really get in some recruiting time while the team and CPJ preps for the bowl game. And the PR and "buzz" around GT and the program lately has been extremely positive.

I gotta teach some of you how to embed tweets into your posts. Half the work and twice the usefulness.

Hope it all pans out but holding the excitement until the LOI is delivered on signing day.

I think there are some structural changes in society over the past decade that will also contribute to this.

One of the biggest changes is that technology is cool now. When Paul Johnson was hired, the iPhone was 1 year old, Android in its current form didnt exist, Instagram didn't exist, no one had heard of an Uber, Twitter was the sound a bird made for most people, and Amazon hadn't yet taken over the world. The MCU didn't exist and the first Iron Man movie had just come out.

My point, basically, is technology is extremely cool now. Stuff geeks and techies used to love talking about is what everyone talks about these days, whether it's your primary computing device, software updates, comic book heroes, game of thrones, etc. What Tech stands for has become cool. Basketball players and actors today are more likely to talk about their technology investments as they are about anything.

Even the idea of education being uncool is changing rapidly. These are things Tech can really take advantage of.

It doesn't hurt that our coach is the guy who played a large hand in landing one of the best Tech recruiting classes in recent history.
