Kickoffs

I don't think it's a laughable matter regarding missed XP. We need to find a reliable kicker for XP and KO. Speaking of that, didn't Tech recruit a kicker and now he's injured?
He is a fifth year senior who was kicking his first XP. I felt bad for him, but hope he can laugh it off and get another opportunity when we blow out UGAg.

It was a third team, walk-on kicker who was just being given a chance to get in the game because he's a senior. We need to blow someone else out because it's sad if that's his only college football moment.

Our top two kickers were perfect for this game, 2/2 FG and 3/3 PAT.

The recruited kicker (Brenton King) hasn't been injured since the season began, but Shawn Davis has been beating him out in practice.
Hasn't been injured? Thought he was, if a walk on beats out a scholarshiped kicker someone has made a mistake in recruiting.

Before the season he was injured. Only a freshman, maybe he'll get better. But it wouldn't be the first time we've made a mistake recruiting a kicker--Justin Moore didn't pan out.

King kicked an XP yesterday and I believe got to kick off.

If we hand a scholarship to a kicker. First is he should be able to kick the ball through the endzone on kickoffs.

King hit a 25 yarder and an XP, I think. Unfortunately, his kickoff wasn't hit solidly, but he does have the leg to get touchbacks some percentage of the time. It was a good game to ease him in and give him some chances. I think we could see him or Davis or both vs Miami.

I don’t even care about the missed XP in garbage time by a senior backup kicker. I do care about the short kickoffs and not good to piss poor kickoff coverage. I also care about the starting kicker missing field goals that count.

I was surprised that UNC player caught the line drive. That was like hitting the ball right at a shortstop. If it had been hit a few more feet to the side, he might have that bounce off of him and we might recover.

Same here. That was a hell of a catch. Ball was spinning in a tight vertical spiral.

He (Barton, walkon kicker) has played in a few games as a WR actually. He moved from WR to K before this season started.

Kind of impressive that he saw the field in both of those positions in CFB. I doubt many guys have done that.

Did not know that. Now I don't feel so bad about saying he missed a kick women have made at this level.

Joe Guyon was an All-American at running back and on the offensive line. I love that trivia.
