Getting high on a Tuesday night likely has zero effect on your ability to play football on Saturday.

Well what if getting high on Tuesday night gets you arrested and then suspended?
:)

OK, so originally I had intended this to be just a witty, sarcastic response. But now that I re-read the statement it makes a little more sense as a genuine question. I realize you were talking about how getting high on Tuesday night doesn't affect your physical abilities on the field on Saturday. But considering it is illegal (not going to get into any discussion beyond the legality) and could land you in jail, AND sometimes you get tested as part of your agreement to play football, I would think that your choice to get high on Tuesday most certainly could affect your ability to play on Saturday. This is meant as a general discussion, not as a response or specific poser to beej.

These people who feel the need to play Jesus and tell us to examine ourselves before mocking the sins of others absolutely kill me.

This is college football. We are college football fans.

How is this supposed to go?

Tech Fan: Your players are hoodlums!
UGAg Fan: So was one of yours!
Tech Fan: Very well.

Jesus Christ. This is Georgia that we're talking about. This is the supposed second coming of the most annoying name any of us have ever heard in our lives. This is the year that they're supposed to assume their god-given place atop not only the football world but the rankings of all matter across this galaxy and no less than half of Andromeda.

I'd hate to tailgate with you. I'd probably have to put your face on the grill after the first time I tried to ask what the Good Word was and you responded that "We may very well go to hell ourselves, so pace yourself."

I imagine your humanitarian asses don't actually want us to beat Georgia because even though it means we get to win - it still means that the other team has to feel the agony of defeat and we should never wish that on another human being, even if they are our rivals.

Good God almighty, people.

Preach on, brotha!

I'll buy all that.

Drug tests aren't really for discovering weed smokers, they're for discovering addicts without the self control to lay off before a test is coming up. And a guy without the self control to lay off runs a much higher risk of getting into legal trouble, or of smoking on game day, so I'm a big proponent of drug testing athletes (or employees for that matter) even though I don't think marijuana is any worse for you than alcohol.

Putting carcinogens in your lungs will affect your physical athletic ability no matter what day you smoke. The extent to which you do it will also impact cognitive skills like attention, reasoning, and memory.

Yeah, UGA fans certainly had no problem making a big deal about Reub and Hamilton. It's college football and I say piss on 'em when they screw up.

EDSBS, however, is saying it's all crap. Still, nothing would please me more than seeing Moreno become another Ricky Williams.

that is why i sold Knowshon a vaporizer.. but he had to go to Jersey to pick it up, as his credit card billing address was in Jersey and thats where i had to ship it.

Heisman voters are a bit pickey regarding character. He needs to clean up his act.

I don't see that coming his way this year unless its just mind blowing. He'll be in the discussion, but if he's top 5 after a sophomore year he'll be sitting pretty. He's good, damn good, but not as "exciting" as mcfadden/peterson have been recently. He's more of a workhorse back and they don't generate as much buzz as the break away guys, and he's on a team that has a very balanced offense. Never know though, if the mutts make a run of it this year and southern QBs aren't lighting it up he'll get a lot of attention.

I predict that Moreno will get injured this year. The way he runs, he is going to get planted with more carries and he ain't that big.

Knownothingshown will be in the draft after this year. Bottom line.

So did anyone ever say where it says he was suspended? A friend of mine says that he is not suspended, but he is being selected as a Playboy all-American and he is the first ugaG player to accept it. Rumor is that he is pissing some people off (Richt and the team Chaplain). That is just another I heard that he heard though.

That was what a uga guy told me. I know he has failed one drug test. But the playbody thing could be true.

i dont think he is the first to accept the honor, maybe the first since Rev Richt.. but i dont think the first even for that.

This rumor was squashed recently. The internet can be a dangerous place for one who believes everything they read on it.

I can't believe some would think a UGA player would do something wrong/illegal.

Dang. Lesson learned here, guys.
