KQ on Chuck Oliver Show

People still listen to sportstalk radio?

From its inception, I used to listen to and call into 790 The Zone often. I enjoyed it. About 15 years ago I just stopped sports talk altogether, cold turkey. All these years later I wonder why I ever enjoyed it.

I listen to sports talk radio in DC. The guys up here mostly talk pro sports but some college and they aren't biased towards any conference or team. They are funny and entertaining so, in short, its better than political radio or the $20/hour session musician crap they play on I heart radio.

Thanks for the summary. This lets me hype myself up that we might have a functioning offense again. In case it wasn’t blatantly obvious from the game splits last season, it’s been Sims or bust for a while now

Exactly. Another positive to him being gone. Hopefully Weinke is helping with the game plan for Sims too.

This play shows just how elusive Sims can be when running. I don't know how there often seemed to be so many defenders around him without actually being able to tackle him until 10 yards later.

The next play highlights a skill that Weinke might have some experience with as well. Even the officials looked confused (though, in the ACC that's not as high of praise as it should be).

That link isn’t working

It was really an indictment of CDP too. His running ability was so blatantly obvious when he did take off. Why wouldn't you use that weapon?

Because they were so fixated on "ripping the band-aid off" that they weren't going to play to any player's strengths, even the ones they recruited apparently.

I think the gamble was that winning didn’t matter as much for the first two years as showing recruits what they planned to do on offense. The gamble payed off at first, but the wins didn’t come in year three like they should have.

I made the mistake of listening….Oliver is such an ignorant idiot. In summary, he’s concerned that the influx of portal players will lead to a bunch of academically ineligible players in December so it doesn’t even matter if we make a bowl.

That's a problem I'm happy to have.
