Definitely a weird situtation.

They weren't ready for the jump. Predictable result but they take it out on the coach.

Clearly handled in an awful way, but he was a triple option coach, right?

A lot of the rule changes over the past years have really hurt the ability to run a scheme like that, and KSU hasn't been successful in a few years. I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

Not sure but clearly Army and Navy have figured out how to make it work.

He was originally a triple option coach, but at some point in the last 2 or 3 years, he changed a lot

he gets my thanks for ruining overrated Jamey Chadwell's Liberty Flames season. Glad we won't have to hear them complaining about being left out of the playoffs had they run the table.
Liberty lost the week after as well. They were done either way.

They weren't running the PJ offense this year. More hybrid/zone with a tight end option stuff. It was some option, but not the textbook PJ spread triple.

I've known Bo a long time. Great dude. I mean, just an awesome guy. His dad was a high school coaching legend in the state and Bo was just super down to earth and terrific. Hate it for him.

Right, sorry -- I know he used to be one, and then changed the scheme because of the rule changes. If he's had several poor seasons after making that switch, I could understand the admin wanting to move on.

But to be clear, the way they did it is pretty messed up and not the way to treat someone who literally built the program.

I have a friend whose son is the long-snapper for KSU this year, having transferred there from Valdosta State for his final year. He is mid-season All America at that position, so it will be interesting to see what my friend has to say later. We usually talk once a week.

Stupid decision. The guy is a heck of a football coach. I used to pull for them but will not any longer.

What in the world was KSU expecting this year??

Also if you think it's time to make a change why would you do that during the season?? This is either some kind of twisted incompetence by the KSU AD or there's more to the story.
Early in the season maybe, but with only 3 games left? What could they possibly think that would accomplish. My friend is pissed, and he (being a HS coach himself) said other Georgia HS coaches are really pissed.
