Lack of Enthusiasm

Is it any wonder that we typically get worse as the season progresses?
2008: first 5-1, then 4-3
2009: first 5-1, then 6-2
2010: first 4-2, then 2-5
2011: first 6-0, then 2-5
2012: first 2-4, then 5-3
2013: first 3-3, then 4-3
2014: first 5-1, then 6-2
2015: first 2-4, then 1-5
2016: first 3-3, then 6-1

Some of those years the collapses were significant (2011), but other times we've dramatically improved (2016), and generally things are pretty much the same (2009, 2013, 2014).

I think the trend you 'sense' in your heart is probably due to the fact that we typically play our 'second division' opponents in the first half of the season, but we always play UGA and a bowl opponent (and the Atlantic champ in the ACCCG) in the second half.

It looked like GT didn't want to play Saturday. The sideline was lifeless. Meanwhile the VA sideline was jumping up and down the whole game, celebrating every success. Stayed that way the whole game. No coaching intervention or player leadership to get the guys believing or feeling momentum as it swung. On the coaches in my mind.
Me too. I forgot we even had a game until 15 minutes before kickoff. DVR'd it. Watched it in about 1 hour. Regretted it.

Um. You realize that is 35 wins in the first half of season, and 36 in second? Also realize that we play the garbage OOC teams early in the season, as a matter of course? I give you 15 demerits.

I don't think you read my post... no demerits, though, I'm a nice guy.

I could also state it this way:
2009: first 6-1, then 5-2
2010: first 5-2, then 1-5
2011: first 6-1, then 2-4
2012: first 3-4, then 4-3
2013: first 4-3, then 3-3
2014: first 5-2, then 6-1
2015: first 2-4, then 1-5
2016: first 4-3, then 5-1
But I see your point.
