Larry Coker for OC?

No what it says it none of us know the situation at UNC or what Davis has in mind. Or even if he talked to Coker and they decided for some reason not to do it over.

The other way of looking at it is that Butch Davis was Coker's HFC for years, but did not follow him to the pros, where Davis failed and Coker won a National Championship. Larry Coker does not want Davis as his HFC. I think that this speaks volumes about why UNC made a mistake when they hired Davis.

Fixed.

And you know this how?

Here is the quote from Larry Coker regarding the Offensive Coordinator position at UNC:

"We have talked, but not about the offensive coordinator position. I expect he's going to go in a different direction on that."

Per Coker's own words, Butch Davis has not inquired about his interest in being the OC at UNC and does not believe that he will.

Maybe some of you don't think that Butch Davis is a very good college HC, but I happen to think he is an exceptional one and I think that the vast majority of people would agree with that opinion. I think that just about all of the potential reasons why Butch Davis would not consider Coker at UNC are just as applicable to the OC position at GT.

Coker also completely lost control of his team at Miami. He didn't have the guts to suspend the players for more than 1 game for the FIU incident and wanted to bring back Ryan Moore to play us. I don't like the way he went light in either of these situations and seemingly put winning ahead of doing the right thing.

As an old fart I feel qualified to say that

COKER IS TOO OLD FOR OC JOB!! Forget about him. Next.

Actually, per Coker's own words, he said he was interested in Minnesota's HC position. If I'm talking to my buddy and he says he's looking at a jorb similar to mine, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be offering one to work for me. Chan (or the board members here) might wanna take the same hint.

Coker may do very well up "naurth" in the B-10. I can't see Jim Tressell or Lloyd Carr having much fun at da U either.

well, he would probably be better than chan calling plays but, the miami offense the past few years hasnt set the world on fire.

I have heard nothing else on this anywhere but I wonder if he could be waiting to see if he is up for the Minnesota job first. I have mixed feelings about him but he did do a good job while working under Davis.

Well some coaches do much better as playcallers when they're OCs than HCs. See: Freidgen, Chan. Freidgen's offenses haven't exactly lit the world up recently either, and I'd love to have him as an OC.

Was Coker even doing his own playcalling this year?

Don't post much....but LOVE to have him if only for a year or two. Those ears would get a ton of pub. To be focused solely on the O and not have to deal with all the extracurriculars(like at UM) would set him up nicely but.....why would he do it if he could be a HC somewhere?

Dan Reeves. (oh my sides hurt!)...
Just what in the hell is this supposed to mean? Do you want Reeves as our OC? If you do, why do your sides hurt?
