LB and DB

What is Johnson's size (no pun intended) and weight? He an Robertson both need to put on some serious weight to battle with ACC OTs. Robertson in particular is awfully athletic.

Safeties about 3 years younger than Jaracz . . . could it be Anthony Harrison or Cleve Pounds?

77GTFan you must have gone to Tech at the time because those are a couple of great guesses although Anthony was a year younger than this player and Cleve came from around the Lithia Springs area (also where another GT DL Glenn Spencer was from). I have not talked to Anthony in years although Cleve is a preacher now. Y'all are getting close.

Bingo. I had (and still do) a couple of nicknames that I used to call Mark (not appropriate here). Mark ended up being a very good player for Tech. He was not big enough, fast enough, and he had no High School football resume. He walked on and earned a scholarship after his Sophomore year (I believe). Mark was just a football player. Mark has worked for Bank of America for many years now and is a senior manager. He also married a Griffin girl (whom he met at Tech) and has a few kids.

For those of you out there that want to count the recruiting stars, Mark had no stars coming to Tech but ended up being an All Star.

By the way, for extra credit there were two more walk-ons in that class that earned scholarships at Tech and were significant contributors. Any guesses. Both were from Georgia.

John Ivemeyer is the only other one I am sure of...from that graduating class with Hogan. I would guess Joel Carter for the other.

Ivenmeyer is one of them but Joel was a scholarship player thus you are still missing one. Joel and I were good friends through school. We made many a trip to his hometown of Savannah.

Ivenmeyer was an immediate impact player at Tech. He earned his scholarship before we played our first game as Freshmen. He married his High School sweetheart and has worked for Georgia Power for ever. I saw him recently doing a program on PBS talking about power generation. John was a brilliant engineering student and is a class A person that no one could ever say anything negative about, Unless you were behind him in the Pizza Hut buffet line. That boy could eat. By the way his younger sister was an all ACC female shot putter at Tech.

Another example of a guy that the recruiters completely missed but ended up being a star at Tech.

Still missing one.

Could it be punter Mike Snow? How about Center Andy Hearn?
Since Dewberry transferred, did he start out at Tech as a walk-on?

Snow and Hearn were not from Georgia.

The only other seniors from GA that year were John Porter, Cleve Pounds, Ted Roof, Glenn Spencer, Pat Swilling, Mike Travis, and Daryl Wise. The only one of that group I could see being a walk-on would be John Porter.

I'll give you a free pass on that one Banker /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugher.gif

From the depth chart for the Ugag game:
6'7" 225lbs, but I don't know if they update his weight from what was originally published at the beginning of the season.

Not to interupt this trivia going on, but what do you guys think about Jamal Lewis? I remember he played very well against Auburn when Kenny Scott had to leave the game. Didn't really see or hear too much about him after that game. Is he a potential starter at either CB or Safety?

He will start opposite Kenny Scott at CB next year. Jamal is a solid cover guy and a great tackler.

No ther is one more from that class. I am pretty sure he did not redshirt and stick around for another year. This guy hailed from the SE to CE part of Georgia and came from a military family. Halso would have played safety for Tech although he earned his scholly as a special teams player.

Depth at corner also sounds as if it may be an issue. Jamal played well for us this year.
