I am of the opinion that I hate no one more than next week's opponent (of course UGA is exempt from this rule.)

To that end, I think it's time to start making fun of/talking trash about da u. And it started early for me, as I was reading an article out of some blog site with an interview with Shannon. Didn't find too much in the article to really trash on, but the 2nd comment amused me. I present it for you. It is full of fail on so many levels. Bolded added by yours truly.:laugher:

I feel the canes are a much faster team and way more maturity than last years squad. With a new qb who showed great ability monday night along with coaches who have a desire to win the whole deal, the Canes are a team to wrecken with. Make no mistake, Ga Tech is extremely talented that will be in Miami next Thursday night, but the Canes are a team that is nothing what they saw in 08.

Also did Shannon not have desire to win the whole deal last year? Or is he saying Nix/Whipple by generalizing to 'coaches'?

Haha. At least they give us some respect. Does anyone know what are the free Miami boards?

Their Scout boards are very active...and GT fans(including myself) frequent them to talk trash.

They've got some serious delusion over there to the point of hilarity.

For instance, after their opening game vs. FSU a thread popped up titled "Could we beat Florida?"

also there were numerous threads after the Blount(Oregon BSU) incident CONGRATULATING Blount for punching the BSU guy. Much thuggery was involved.

On the board that I posted, most of them are preoccupied with UF. They think we are just another bump in the road on the way to playing UF. Oh well, we will see how things pan out in the end.

They are not bad. They struggled, but don't forget that both of these teams just played on Saturday.

Also, Nesbitt played in a pass-happy, Hawaii type offense in high school. He throws the ball decently, although he didn't last night. You see what happens when a defense catches a beat on the option plays they run. They are forced to throw the ball.

Nesbitt is effective and that WR (#8) they have is really good. I think that when the run game struggles, I don't know if Paul Johnson knows how to mix in the right pass looks. He's no dummy by any stretch, but when Clemson was shutting down the run for a little while there, it seemed as if he got antsy and Nesbitt was a little flustered.

Clearly the second half that Clemson played is the blueprint for flustering their offense. And Clemson took FULL ADVANTAGE of that opportunity when they got the ball back to pull themselves back into the game. Miami must do that if/when we get that opportunity next Thursday... capitalize and either keep pace, catch up, or pull away from GT and make them throw even more.

But here's the biggest stat that no one is talking about that helps us even more than having 10 days to prepare: Georgia Tech will be playing their third game in 13 days. Saturday against Jacksonville State, yesterday against Clemson, and next Thursday at Miami.

Check this quote out from Shannon:

Shannon said the focus will be on stopping the other backs instead of feature back Jonathan Dwyer, last year's Atlantic Coast Conference player of the year. In the last meeting, Mike Cox ran eight times for 78 yards and a touchdown.

Oh MAN I hope this is true. I mean you think they'd want to focus on a guy that ran for 128 on 10 carries and 2 TD's in one half. :fingersx:

From the same article I linked above:

Most teams send out five eligible receivers, but UM only used three in some situations so it had more blockers. At times, tackle Jason Fox lined up at tight end to confuse the FSU defense.

Do most teams run an empty backfield spread every play? "Jason fox lined up at tight end to confuse the FSU defense", because Tight ends are confusing?
