Virginia- B/A - (6-2,9-5)Greatly exceeded expectations, picked to finish 7-9. Excellent coaches, recruiting very well. Young players. Good W over SCar. Impressive Bowl W over W Virginia.
Maryland- B/A - (6-2,11-3)'01 was no fluke. Solid team. Outplayed/coached by ND, UVa & FSU. Big W @ WVa, beat NC St. Very impressive Bowl W over Tennessee.
NC St- B+/B+ - (5-3,11-3)3 conf losses keeps this from A. Most Ws ever. Always attacking, aggressive on O,D & STs. Big Ws @ Tex Tech, FSU. Very impressive Bowl W over ND.
Wake For- C+/A- - (3-5,7-6)Gutty team, tough. Gets more outta players than anyone. Super run game, good D. Great W @ Purdue. Very good Bowl W over Oregon in Seattle.
Fla St- A/C - (7-1,9-5)Still the best players in ACC. Won ACC outright. Underachieved outside conf, shoulda beaten Miami. Good Ws over Fla, Md, Io St, UVa. Competed vs Ga in Bowl.
GaTech- C/C - (4-4,7-6)Competitive in ACC. Injuries really hurt. QBs inconsistent. Could've been much better yr by players/coaches. Ugly Bowl loss to Fresno.
Clemson- C/D - (4-4,7-6)Some players, little coaching. May get worse. No big Ws. QBs inconsistent. Ugly, ugly Bowl L.
No Car- (1-7,3-9)W @ Az St keeps this from Fs. Players didn't play. QB may be quite good.
Duke- D/D - An improvement. D really improved. Close, tough ACC losses. Poor play calling & penalties cost them games.
