Let's talk about Pelton

Who blamed the offense? The fact of the matter is both sides sucked when it counted. UNC is a good offensive team and 20 points isn't going to do it. Conversely, giving 10 yard cushions and blitzing into the center of the pocket isn't getting it done either. Trying to sneak the field goal unit in after calling a timeout due to an idiotic play isn't doing it either. Who should we hold responsible?

Your mom.

I can't fathom the amount of willful ignorance required to keep believing things like this when our offense has been consistently one of the best in the country under CPJ's tenure. The problem is that our defense has been just as consistently bad. The fact that putting up over 500 yards against a ranked team in a game where our star QB got injured is considered a bad day for us tells us all we need to know, IMO.

Clemson 1st half first downs = 19
GT 1st half total yards = 22

Don't let facts get in the way though.

Dude, Clemson would have beaten the shit out of us that day with any offense we've run since I've been alive. I'm sorry, but that's the truth. They are absolutely loaded with talent, both in their players and coaching staff, and they spend a ton of time preparing for us since we've beaten Dabo more times than any team in America. They heard all week that they were on upset alert, so they stomped on our throats in the 1st quarter. Forgive me if I'm not willing to condemn our entire program because we got blasted by a team that will go undefeated and possibly win the national title.

Also, you just cited our worst offensive performance in CPJ's entire tenure as if that was somehow supposed to reflect on the program as a whole. That's like pointing to the Alcorn State game last year as an example of how awesome our defense is.

You mean the 17 points against BC or the 20 against UNC were sufficient? Maybe the 7 against Clemson floats your boat. AS JUSTIN THOMAS' FATHER SAID, WE ARE INCONSISTENT ON OFFENSE. By the way, he was Justin's high school coach. The offense has not been that good for the last couple of years. They put up yardage, but not points, and when that is your identity, you lose. The defense is horrible, but that is a signature of Johnson teams. Ever wonder why?
Preach it brother!

Clemson will not win the national title. Best case scenario, they'll lose to Alabama in the final. And I will enjoy it.

Paul Johnson thought this year's offense had "2014 potential".

Probably because he got to see them torch Roof's shitty defense day after day.
