Re: List of Greatest GT QB\'s of all time
Gotta think Joe Hamilton was the greatest competitor/player/leader.
Shawn Jones led Tech to a MNC, so he's right there with Little Joe.
Wade Mitchell led some of Tech's greatest teams ever during our heyday. Plus he played defense and became a leading banker in Atlanta. He absolutely epitomizes what Tech is all about.
Billy Lothridge was, like Little Joe, #2 in the Heisman race and made Tech competitive with any team in the nation in the early '60's.
I have many other favorite Tech QB's. Dewberry was an absolute thorn in the Dawgs' paws. Godsey played like a well oiled machine. Mike Kelley had to pass way too often and still won alot of games. Eddie McAshan was a tremendous athlete who personally carried a heavy load on his shoulders for the team.
After all is said and done, my favorite QB, in terms of personal style and leadership is Shawn Jones. Hes probably my favorite Tech player of all time. What a fine and nice young man (although I suppose he's getting old now pushin' the Big 4-0). Just kidding, Shawn. His dad, Andrew, looked like a very happy man.
