Listening to CPJ during his radio show....

I was listening to the radio show last night. It's really night and day as opposed to when Chan was there. While Chan just seemed really uncomfortable with interviews and the media in general, it just really seems like Johnson handles that stuff quite well. He's really pretty good with the one-liners and seems to have some pretty good dry-humor. It's refreshing to see our coach act like he should be in the position he's in and not be squirming in his seat.

Anyone got a link for the pocast of this show? I can't seem to find it.

I can't say it enough, I love this coach. It's been a while since we've had a good leader, and CPJ is just that. I hope we have him for a while.

I'm listening to the show now, trying to step up the pace of this glacially paced day.

He is such a breath of fresh air. The man truly wins at life.

This is absolutely golden. When asked about whether Josh Nesbitt is competitive:

"Maybe it's just my personality or me, but I don't know how you can be good at anything if you're not competitive... If you and I (Wes) are playing jack rocks here on this table, if you beat me I'm gonna want to fight you. I wanna play again and again until I win."

Just great.

I liked when Wes ask about Jaybo, being scripted or a feeling. PJ says yep, it will stay that way for now..

I just love his wit and will to win. It really has such a positive effect on the players, SO much more than Chan...

Remember his speech during the last call in, when he said that "we are going to run the ball".

Then Nesbitt has a career day against MSU throwing the ball.

I will say this, and it will be unpopular with some, but here goes: you can't be a Bible-banger and be a good coach at GT. Let the kids find a religious role model somewhere else.

??
Dude, many college football teams say prayers in the locker room as a team prior to and after the football games. Joe Paterno does it and he is no slouch.

First of all, Dodd coached in a different era. No comparison to college football in 2009. And no comparison to the type of players GT puts on the field today.

As far as locker room prayers go, that means nothing. Some of the most unethical and amoral coaches I ever had said the Lord's Prayer before the game. Even Bill Clinton went to church.

I will say this, and it will be unpopular with you, but here goes: you can't make unsupported assertions and answer counter-examples with a mere "Yeah, but that was different" and expect anyone to respect your opinion.

I disagree because I don't agree.

FAIL. CPJ goes to Second Ponce de Leon Baptist.

a man's relationship with God is between him and God. the church is full of sinners because the church is full of sinners. let the coach coach and the individual have his spiritual relationship.
Colossians 1:16
For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.

Oh please, let's turn a football thread into a goddamned religious discussion. There's a reason I avoid the moronic posts of the Off-Topic forum, so please keep that **** there.
