Long delay granted to UGA after 1st quarter

Make no mistake about it, folks.

This is a ploy. UGA wants to be able to announce UVA's defeat (if it happens) to VT while the 4th qtr is still going on in our game.

Pussies.

Hopefully Tech will be rolling over them like they were Tennessee or Auburn or something.

I strongly suspect that it is a ploy, but also an attempt to get Munson out there while he is still sober.

TO HELL WITH GEORGIA!

Why couldn't they do it at the half?

They know the fans will take their bathroom break and be out of their seats during halftime. After the first quarter they will have a captive audience and it will appear that the fans really care. Expect the cameras to seek out some tearful UGA fans to add to the drama. They'll probably have some commercial sponsor, like the "Munson Retirement Address brought to you by Goody's".

Whatever our fans do in Athens, we should not FLICK OFF MUNSON...we'll look like pricks.

I prefer a smile and a more subtle attempt:

Good, I know the time for a bathroom break.

That would be the biggest excuse I would have ever heard. My guess as to the reason they are doing it is the guy retired and they wanted to do it during a time when the crowd was in the stands because he's never been on the field like that before. It will still be disgusting, but it's not some ploy to allow St. Richt to outcoach Paul Johnson.

First, I was not trying to make an excuse, I was just stating it as a possibility. Second, I coach and have been around several coaches, some of which have scheduled events like this early in the game when they were the favorites just in case the underdog team they were facing jumped out on them. It is very logical because it would kill any momentum or high of the visiting team and give the home team an emotional boost. Third, I told a former head coach (who is not a Tech fan) about this and he said the same thing and that it is a good move by UGAy. So think next time before you rip someone for making an educated observation.
