look for WM to be mentioned as the new HC for another...

Who Cares about MUSCHAMP. You are talking about a Defensive coordinator with no HC experience. The problem is we are about to lose PJ to DUKE. I thought DRAD was a big time AD..... I GUESS NOT.

That's not really fair. The money just may not be there. If PJ isn't willing to sacrifice a few hundred K a year to get an opportunity to win REAL championships and prove his "system" works in against the big boys then screw him.

Southern Miss is in very much the same situation as GT. They went in over their head on a stadium expansion and their coach pissed off the (three) major donors they have by not competing this season. The difference is that they'd be a united fanbase with anyone on our list. Our AD had a first choice. He's about to be their coach.

As long as WM beats UGa, I don't care where he coaches.

:p

It is just funny. You go into one thread and read GT is much better job than SMU because it is in BCS conference. Now USM is a better job than Duke; but they only played 1 BCS team all year, and lost. If Duke ever got half serious about football that would be a good job; tough part is getting them half serious.
Why would Duke be a good job? Duke was much more serious about football in the 80s and they basically were a 5-6 program. Only Spurrier was able to win there. The 90s/00s have been worse, but Duke hasn't been good since the 60s.

Several reasons Duke would be a good job:

a) BCS conference
b) low expectations
c) academic reputation should attract a certain type of athlete
d) should be easier to keep a student eligible than at GT
e) Duke has high name recognition
f) high income alumni should be able to support you once you gain their interest
g) Duke has been bad long enough, that if you go bowling once every 3 years you could retire there

I think the Duke job has lots of parallels to the Wake Forest job.

Southern Mississippi plays 3rd fiddle in the state of Mississippi, and Hattiesburg is a wasteland.
