Looking Ahead To 2007

So what. You are talking about potential. None of the guys who are currently on the roster have done squat. The big play ability of Earls? What is that? High School ability? Frierson has looked strong? When?? Are these practice reports? Practice reports by those that report them are a joke. Entertainment and that is all. If Frierson has looked strong he'd probably be seeing more playing time.

Donley and Thomas have some size, but so did Bilbo and Xavier McGuire. You are talking about a load of potential. But piss in one hand and potential in the other and see which one fills up first.

Fact is someone has to step up and be a threat and we don't know if that can happen. To match CJ's ability we need more than one of them to step up. None of these guys makes me feel all warm and fuzzy that they can step up and produce numbers (even two of them) like CJ or even be a Kelly Campbell/Kerry Watkins or a Campbell/White combo. So far if any of them were a threat, they'd be giving us options at WR right now. That isn't happening.

Again.. we have a huge hole on the interior line and we have little to no beef at DE with little to no quality depth to back them up.

I hope to God Tongo and Barnes stay at LB. If they get much bigger then we lose a big fast LB and gain a smallish DE. We have NEVER been able to become a real contender with small DE's. Losing Monroe in the recruiting class was a massive blow. We need to recruit the lights out of DE and DT right now. Fill up the remainder of this class with big uglies on the DL.

A little too much attitude in your post...you just have a few drinks in you now.

Yes...I have seen all of these receivers. James Johnson has not done squat? Yeah...right.

I will let you tell Michael Johnson he is not a capable backup. Ask Ralph Friedgen what he thinks.

...and we did not "lose" Monroe.

Your "tough talk" is mighty cute...save it for halftime in a junior high football locker room.

BOR, your wit seems to have no end.

Pfft. That's an old one.

And yeah, I agree with everyone above, about everything, even if they were disagreeing.

Yeah I've heard it before, but I have always heard it used with the "s" word and and not piss. I also thought it was hilarious that he thought of using it in this context.

Yeah, well, ... piss in one hand and tell old jokes into the other, and see which one fills up first.

It's plumb PECULIAR to me that NOBODY has mentioned James Johnson's performance in last saturday's game. He caught at least 7 passes including that PHENOMINAL catch in the end zone.

If that had been Calvin's performance, every body would still be talking about. The fact we lost would have made no difference.

What is going on here?

So what BOR. This is college football. Teams roll over every year and the new guys coming in are ALWAYS untested and untried. No one knew Kelly Campbell, Dez White or Kerry Watkins would turn out like they did until they actually got their shot. FYI, everything is potential until they play I don't care if it was CJ or anybody currently being recruited.

Yup. The unheralded recruits Keith Brooking and Chris Reis turned out pretty good, while highly ranked recruits like Hobie Holiday and David Jordan didn't pan out.

That said, ya gotta like what's coming in next year!

Good point Leatherjacket!! JJ did have a good game and it seems no one has said anything about it.

Agreed, JJ has improved 100%. It was my wife who saw how James has actually followed CJ's concentration techniques to improve himself.
I know this puts more credit back on CJ, but why not. I don't care how a kid improves himself!

Glad you brought up JJ's performance.

JJ is a solid reciever, but he's basically batting ahead of Albert Pujols right now. Next year we might not have the luxury of having Calvin affecting defenses. If that is the case we're going to need three WRs to step up.

I hope Taylor Bennett or Jon Garner step up and win the QB job this spring/summer. Starting a frosh QB is pretty much conceding two years.
