wreck, I can't argue with you on those points. I just see Atlanta as the answer: lots of ACC fans in the town, easy access (airport), guaranteed enjoyable environment, big time football town.
Obviously Jax is just too small a town to fill up the Gator Bowl for football and three other college games. Personally I don't think Charlotte is the answer either. They are small and have a NFL team too and the game is outdoors. But it is accessible for three of the top six programs (Tech, Clemson, VPI).
Atlanta is accessible by three top programs also (Tech, Clemson, FSU), but has a better airport for two (Miami and BC) and is reachable by VPI. I just think Atlanta has a better chance of selling out.
And right now, to build interest and excitement(where money comes from), we need to sell out the building. (I really don't have a problem with putting the game at the highest ranked team.)
