Is it just me, or are there a lot more "GT haters" this season than there were last season? Seems like everyone who said "This will never work in BCS football" has now turned their tune into "I hope you all fail."

I'm seeing nothing but ill will whenever I look around, even from fanbases that don't have a real reason to hate us, like UNC.

That's because they all told all their friends how it wouldn't work, and we made them look like idiots. Now they are resentful and angry that they were idiots.

So naturally they want the revenge of us 'failing'.

Why is kyle tagged in this thread? Sheesh, he hasn't even posted yet.

I give EVERY UNC fan that I know a reason to hate GT. I despise them and I HATE carolina blue.

I think a lot of GT fans are becoming miami-like obnoxious due to a little bit of a success. Just check the opponents boards, a lot of d-bag GT fans. It goes both ways.

+1, the 6 or 7 people that flood every message board with nonsense are what makes other message boards hate us

Perhaps it's a certain fear factor coming out of our fellow ACC-ers. They've seen the potency of the TO, they are afraid, they hope it's all a bad dream and that it will go away.

After beating GT 28-7 last year, UNC may not yet be smelling the fear.

Let me go check the box score for that game...

...interesting, I'm now remembering the turnovers ..ON DOWNS! (this was the weekend I moved into my cabin so I was mostly listening to Wes)

Stats of note:

First downs: GT- 20, UNC- 13
Passing yds: GT- 97, UNC- 128
Rushing yds: GT- 326, UNC- 186
Total yds: GT- 423, UNC -314
Turnovers: GT- 3, UNC- 0

Well, it's not like UNC took it to GT huh? GT turned it over on downs on UNC's 45 and 18 in the first half and missed two 40+ yard field goals in the first half. UNC's three fourth quarter TD drives started inside GT's 40.

Our offense simply sputtered at the wrong time and the turnover bug bit us in the second half. Perhaps the intelligent UNC fan understands this --hence the hate.

It seems like scUM fans have turned particularly vitriolic after losing game after game to us, starting with the start of their fall a few years ago. It's like how UF thinks of UGA, we don't really hate them but now they really hate us. Hopefully they continue to fester in their hate.

Lovin it... Good old-fashioned hate. I can't wait 'til those thugs drown in their tears after we demolish them.

Side note, I'm not actually that certain about this game. Pretty worried

I think someone thought this was my religious thread in the OT forum.

Yes, I see the same thing. I think it has something to do with, while we certainly don't have the overall historical success as a Notre Dame, or the New York Yankees, we do have success over multiple generations as those organizations do. The teens and 20's, the 50's and 60's, on to the 90's and now hopefully back again. Lots and lots of years to cultivate enemies.
