Apparently he picked FSU to win the conference. His reason? "Because Florida State expects to be as good as they used to be."

I'm assuming this is the same logic he used to pick Notre Dame to take the world by storm.

This is Lou we are talking about, if you ask him he is still coaching the Irish.

Yeah I saw that too (and posted it 3 mins after you did, explaining my "NM" post).

One of the biggest flaws in Lou's reasoning is that, like UGA and Clemson, FSU has expected to be awesome and win their conference EVERY year. What makes those expectations so much more powerful this year?

That's like expecting Lou Holtz to consistently come up with cogent thoughts just because he used to be able to a decade or two ago.

Because it is their year.

I'll give him one thing. he did almost call an LSU upset. Washington made that game MUCH closer than anyone expected.

I do not think anyone pays attention to or appreciates his commentary. Some days I cannot even understand what he says, thankfully. Not sure why he is employed.

They're doing the pregame for FSU-UM right now and Mark May is wearing sunglasses. What a tool.

Does it benefit us division-wise if either team wins or loses tonight?

Benefits us if Miami loses.

Though there's no point in hoping so; they'll lose this game and many other games anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if they start 0-4 this year.

Wow, Lou Holtz just named about 7 tough games on Miami's schedule but skipped us. Nice.

Mark May just said USC, Georgia Tech, or FSU out of the ACC needs to be a national title contender. USC?

Thorough ripping on the ACC by both.

Not to hear Canes fans tell it. They seem to believe they'll only have problems with Oklahoma. But to them, every year is the year they're going back to the top.

Maybe meant UNC? I dunno.

Holtz has no credibility at all, so disregard him. We'll win it all this year.

Some now say they may be able to win with Bradford down. I've never paid attention to Oklahoma, though I'm more than sure they'll kick Miami's ass.

I'm so sick of this talk about "swagger" when Miami is talked about.

Screw the U.

Damn it, now I really want Miami to lose.

Lou Holtz is asked whether Miami can get back to the status they used to hold, and he cannot resist talking about how he used to coach against Miami when they were great.
